Has anyone had experience with practicing African Traditional Religion while active in the Military?

I know there are Wiccan Chaplains, but I'm not sure if they get training in other paths outside of Wicca.

I'm going into the Navy later on this year, and am feeling the pull of the Orishas getting stronger as my ship date approaches.

At this point I'm not sure If I should seek someone to learn from. or if I should wait until I get stationed somewhere, or If I should try to self-educate.

Perpetually Confused,
Patrick

Actually, there aren't any Wiccan chaplains at the present. One chaplain converted to Wicca but was forced out when his original church revoked his credentials as a priest.

Nonetheless, chaplains are responsible for attending to everyone's religious needs, no matter what religion they practice themselves. So it doesn't hurt to ask if there are any more people at your installation who practice African Traditional Religion.
