Howdy all,
A friend was asking me if I happened to know anything about a Haitian Lwa named Mea-jii, and unfortunately I don't. I was wondering if anyone else has heard of or had contact with this one? I don't really have anymore information, but I told her I would post and check to see if anyone else had. Thanks in advance for any help you can give:-)

I'm really new to this, so any name I see in here of Lwa, Orisha, etc, I google the name. I got nothing with this one. Also tried www.alltheweb.com (http://www.alltheweb.com) got nothing there either. I'll look forward to what people have to say.

Sorry, I have not heard of this one before. There are many many that are not well known so this is not a surprise. If i do come across anything I will make sure to share it with you. I checked notes and references that I thought may mention but found nothing.

Thank you so much. I told her that it sounded like one that was particular to a specific locale, rather than well known, so I wasn't sure how easy it would be to track down. She did give me some more information, apparently a friend arrived in Haiti during the middle of a celebration and was almost mobbed after being mistaken for this lwa (who is seen as a blond healer). I am trying to find out which particular celebration it was as this may offer some more clues.

Thank you:-) I pretty much exhausted my texts, notes, and google. I think as Shalaye said, that it may be a lesser known Lwa.

Here is what little extra information she was able to supply me with:

"I don't the part of haiti, but she was there during a pretty active feast week. Pap Ogou, Grande Saint Anne and the Maitresses Silverine and Lorvana were all the week she was there. The last two I think is the celebration day she found herself in the middle of a mob. She just so happens to resemble to blonde haired- blue eyed angel who was supposed to come and heal them. Scared her to death."

Sounds very much like an European Loa... Let me look at something real fast. I can not find what I am searching for. There were European Colonists that settled in Haiti. She sounds like a Loa associated with Papa Loko so I am trying to reference this if I can find my notes.

Again thanks so much dear. I've been trying to go the Saints angle yet so far haven't found anything worthwhile.

I am pretty sure she would be a local Spirit that was elevated and that she is of European Decent. In life she was a nurse most likely and the people petition her in death so they can be healed. Without knowing the location I really can not tell you anymore than that. Yes, she was blonde haired very fair skinned with blue eyes and quite pretty. She is local to Haiti

I have never heard of this Lwa either - there are personal Lwas in the Haitian Vodou tradition that could accompany you so perhaps its one of these Lwas that she asked about...but not a main or well know lwa at all.
