This was on the news this afternoon:

Birmingham City Council has admitted sending out leaflets which showed its US namesake's skyline instead. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west_midlands/7560392.stm)

Someone in the dsign department apparently bought the stock photos and didn't pay much attention, being a designer myself, I saw the photo in question here. (http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup/locations/architecture/buildings/1478222_birmingham_skyline.php?id=1478222&refnum=332714)

Brilliant!

Haha!

That's hilarious.

I'm from "The Ham" as a particular radio DJ likes to call it in Alabama. What's sad about the city is that the picture you linked to is literally the entire skyline. It's pretty sad for the biggest city in a state.

I've had people confuse the two all the time. Once I was in an airport in New York and I told them that I was going to Birmingham and they were freaking out that I wasn't in the international flights part. But it's really ridiculous that the Birmingham in England's city council would confuse the two. It's not like they look anything alike.

Maybe they're recycling pictures?
