Divine intervention, not the market, is bringing gas prices down, one campaigner says.

59-year-old Rocky Twyman of Rockville, Maryland has garnered worldwide attention after holding prayer meetings at gas stations across the United States since April as part of his "Pray at the Pump" drive. Recently, to celebrate a drop in the average price of gasoline to $3.80 a gallon, Twyman led a group meeting at their inaugural Washington service station, singing a version of "We Shall Overcome" whose words were changed to "We'll have to lower gas prices."

Well if it makes them feel like they are doing something about a situation we have little to no control then thats wonderful for them. While I doubt I will be seen praying at my local gas station I have considered lighting a few candles over the whole thing. The gas situation is getting out of control a lot of people are really suffering.

It isn't just gas here... Food prices are sky rocketing. People are canceling insurance policies and cutting other corners to feed their families. I shop at the Dollar Tree for certain things here. They do have a Frozen foods section which has eggs, Sargento Shredded cheese(1 cup), Land Of Lakes brand sour cream, margarine,Davinci Pastas, Green Giant Vegetables, lots of name brand items. I catch the bread deliveries and buy a loaf of whole grain bread that is name brand for 1 dollar here instead of over 3 dollars at the grocery store. I am fortune to have this store across from my place of employment.

Holy crap Tea, I wish I could find bread at $1 a loaf. The last time I had bread that cheep was when we were getting our food from the local Food pantry service.

Same thing that happened to housing is happening to gas. People overinflated the real cost and now it will go down for a while. Though since it's oil they can get away with it more than the housing market so I don't expect it to put to much of a cramp on their rip off ways.

Oh I agree,
but I think it is only fair to add that the experts are saying the price will drop between now and labor day.

I wont be praying either, maybe that my card is not declined when i pay, but that is a whole different matter

it is $3.50 per gallon here in south jersey, other places are a lot higher ..

Prayer is not bringing gas prices down. Though I guess if it makes them feel better?

Inflation is getting scary. It's enough to make anyone pray.
