I'm on several email lists. Usually I get stuff on tarot, herbs, oils, incense, tools. Wild Hunt does get political. Today, I open my email, and Wild Hunt blog today is about Orishas in the news. It seems newspapers on both east and west coast have printed articles about Orisha worship. Then, I get another from a different source with information about Yemaya. Now, usually I wait for a clue by four, not out of conscious choice, but habit. Would rather not continue to do that. Will be on the look out for more indications I need to pay attention to this. I've been interested in HooDoo and Appalachian Granny Magic, but not one of the religions. I've read a little about Yemaya, didn't hit me in the gut, but maybe I wasn't paying attention.......

As far as Orishas, You may be one of the people that The Orishas Literally have to beat over the head to get to notice them. There are many people that do not really get knee jerk reactions about things in general. I would say this warrants a second glance at the least. Do you feel any mysterious forces at play in your life lately? Anything unusual going on? Have you had any strange dreams? Just listing some thought provoking questions that may well help.
Sometimes we have endured so much and gone through a good bit in life that we get a bit numb and can not feel the things we should or we tend to rationalize everything with an explanation and do not see the larger picture.
It is possible to have a connection with one for a reason and a short period of time and not be called into the religion too. Sometimes there is a lesson or a healing that we require in order to move on and they will embrace us for that part of our journey. Yemanja is loving and mother like, nurturing, caring, healing, compassionate in my eyes at least.
If it were me I would at least read up about her and see if anything resonates with me that she could be trying to help with. Perhaps a pain from long ago that has not really healed up?

I've read a couple of internet sites on her. The first was Wikipedia, and nothing really jumped out at me. Then I read another. That one bumped me. Yes, I have pain from long ago that has not been healed. But 2 things hit me. One, she's the mother of all. I don't have a good relationship with my sons, and I'm trying to work on it, but not getting anywhere. She may be here to help with that. Also, although my sun sign is Aries, fire, on my birth chart more planets are in water signs than fire, so water has always been the dominant element in my life. So I think I need to have a talk with Yemaya and do some more research.

Done some reading on Yemaya. Done some meditation, contemplation. I think I will set up an altar to her. Now I'm researching that. I have a seashell my sister brought back from Jamaica while she was on her honeymoon. Will start with that.
