Do you use crystals when you meditate?
This question popped up the other day when I purchased a gorgeous Chakra Set off eBay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Small-Crystal-Chakra-Disks-Grid-Set-Reiki-Healing_W0QQitemZ330266165992QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item330266165992&_trkparms=72%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
I've been using them on my Chakras whilst I meditate and had some brilliant experiences so far. Not only do they work to help open and clear the Chakras, the crystals have brought me some quite intense colour visualisations too :)
So, do you use crystals to help you meditate, and if so, what have your experiences been like?
Also, have you had any negative experiences using crystals while meditating? Do you think this is at all possible?

Anything that can heal, when sed wrong can have ill effects.
That being said, your chakra stone use seems to work fine with you as it does with most people.
I too use chakra stones, corresponding or advanced.
for the beginner, a clear quartz crystal, sapphire, amethyst or smokey quartz would be very good helpers.
advanced practioneers may want to try pietersite, morganite, kunzite/hiddenite, lapis lazuli, ocean agate, rainbow obsidian .... but latter of which should be used wisely and in small doeses at a time

I like my Moonstone..I have also used Amber and Flourite recently
I also have a green tourlamine that I really like
I think a stone/crystal is much like anything else when it comes to meditation what works best is very individual

I love lapis lazuli for meditation and opening psychic awareness. I use moonstone sometimes as well but i prefer amethyst over that. A piece of amethyst placed over the third eye does wonders.

Lapis is great for placing on the third eye too, and as you say opening psychic awareness.
It's also good for the throat chakra and communication, etc.

I have always used Tiger's Eye for much of my workings, including meditation. I think it helps me see the truths in myself and helps me reveal my sub-con to my con.
However when I first started I used rose quartz, but that can lead your mind onto guys/girls and heart related things.
Clear is the best as it is mainly energy to help you out, and doesn't have any prominant features that you have to learn to work around.
Smokey quartz helps me visualize the future.

I do not, but then I use Buddhist methods of meditation (vipassana, shamatha, zazen, and various deity practices), and these methods do not require the use of crystals. They sometimes employ the use of prayer beads for the purposes of counting how many recitations of a mantra one has repeated (in the case of the deity practices).
