We got by with only some downed fences and some tree limbs in the yard! It's really amazing how fortunate most of the people in my area are! I mean there are entire tree's knocked down that have been there all my life, next to trees that seem to be completely untouched! Truly extraordinary, and for the most part my little bit of town came out very lucky! I live in Cypress Texas, which is technically still part of Houston- just a little Northwest.
I know that not many people here on MW know me, but I figure many of you have friends and family that were effected by Ike. (I hear he gave everyone hell between here and Illinois!) So, I thought that people who have also come through the storm could let everyone here know, and maybe share their stories.
I wasn't exactly sure if this was the right forum, if it isn't sooooo sorry!8O
It may take some people a while, I only got power back this afternoon and there are millions still in Houston alone that don't have their power back yet!
My heart goes out to those that lost there lives and homes because of Ike. All the energy I can spare goes out to you!
