Had a bit of extra money and so ordered myself two new books this week. They should be here by the end of the week or early next week:
Rootwork: Using the Folk Magick of Black America for Love, Money and Success
and
Jambalaya: The Natural Woman's Book of Personal Charms and Practical Rituals
I'll let everyone know how they are after I get them!

I got Rootwork: Using the Folk Magick of Black America for Love, Money and Success in the mail today. I was surprised, because I'd just ordered them through Amazon from used sellers on Saturday. Still waiting on the other.
So far, I really like Rootwork. Can't wait to get the other!

I love Jambalaya. Teish is an awesome writer. That was actually one of the first books I started reading on the topic of Hoodoo.
Might I also humbly suggest Stephanie Rose Bird's "Sticks, Stones, Roots, and Bones, Hoodoo, Mojo, & Conjuring with Herbs."
If you haven't had a peek in there yet, its definately worth a look.

I'm packing this weekend, and moving next week, so it'll have to be after then that I can really dig into these books :(

Jambalaya is a good book. I have not seen the other one. I have cat's book too Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic.
I hope to one day be able to Own a Set of Harry Middleton Hyatt's African American Hoodoo Folklore Books. They are pretty expensive when one comes up for sell and getting a set will be hard to do.

I've got Cat's book. It's a great one to have. Bit by bit, I'm fleshing out my collection. One of these days, I'll do a review on each of the books that I've got on my shelf.
