She is in the hospital with an infection in her ankle. I just talked to my Grandpa and I guess it is pretty bad. They did an ultrasound and thank goodness there is no blood clot but they still have no idea what is causing it.
My Grandpa said they are worried that the infection will go into her artificial ankle (not sure how that can happen but thats the concern) and they will have to amputate.
He also said they are expecting to keep her in there at least a couple weeks since they have no idea what is causing this.
I am very close to my Grandparents and Im so scared that this could lead into other things. I get very worried when anything happens with this set of Grandparents since they are not old old but my very favorite.
So please any prayers would be appreciated. Her name is Marie and she is in Bend Or.

I just talked to my Grandma and she has come home. She is still in alot of pain and the Dr.s put a shunt in her so she can go to the hospital every day for huge doses of antibiotics for the next 11 days.
Even though they havent figured out what is causing the infection Im so glad she is home!!

I'm so glad she's home, even if the doctors didn't figure out what was causing her infection. Hopefully, they'll find out very, very soon.
At least she'll be able to sleep easier at home, in her own bed with your grandpa nearby.
More energy sent to her and your grandpa.
Thanks for the update Willow. :hugz:

oh no WR!! Keeping your grandmother in my thoughts and prayers. My grandmother had something similar which she lost both legs from. I think it was more gang green from diabetes. the nursing home orderlys cut her toenails too short..
Hopefully they find out soon what your grandmother has and can get rid of it quickly. :hugz: to you!!

My Grandma doesnt have diabetes or anything like that. Many years ago she broke her ankle and they put an artificial one in its place and I guess this is what is causing the infection. I wanted to talk more about what the Dr.s had said to her and she had to tell me how wonderfull her shunt is.
When I first called she was super groggy and that scared me but as we talked and she woke up more she became more herself.
CR I have the most wonderfull Grandpa in the world so being closer to him at night will deffinately be better for her LOL
Thank you so much everyone for your wonderfull thoughts and prayers. I know it was because of you that she wasnt in for the 11 days my Grandpa first mentioned!!
