View Full Version : Mastery of Self: A New Perspective

Having been away from these forums for a couple of years now I'm drawn back in hopes of reconnecting with the great like-minded individuals I had through Mastery of Self class, and hopefully many more. But that's only scratching the surface.
Mastery of Self was about energy changes and preparing for transformation. It went great while it lasted but I became entirely too busy to finish, and the original plan for the class had ceased to be relevant.
I want to guide a new class, in the same manner, in even more troubling times. The style of the class will be much different than the first. The lessons will be short, more thought-provoking, unplanned, and my involvement will be limited. I would like it to be more open discussion than strictly lessons. I would like it to be more "what is" than "how to" without a bunch of bloated reading. The topics will become posted as I am guided to do so.
I have no idea what I'm getting myself into. Any takers?! :ballonsmi

Sure, why not?
As for having any idea of what we're getting ourselves into, who does?

I will join in, I am fairly new at the whole Light Worker/ Cosmic Assention area. I can always learn all I can. I am researching the DNA repair work and also learning to keep the 13 Moon Calendar as it was done by the mayans.

Okay.
First of all, I'm not going to use Master of Self: A New Perspective. It sounds too new agey to me now. How about Practical Mastery?
Secondly, despite what I said in my original post, this class needs a plan, and a darned good one. I'll need as many ideas as I can get on how you view this topic and what works for you on a personal level as far as your own self-mastery goes (although that sounds like a nice starting lesson). What would you like to gain from the class? Also, if there are any volunteers for additional teachers I'll take all the help I can get.
Thirdly, I think I may have mentioned this in my original post but I want this class to be taught by you, the students, more than by myself. I am mastering what I do in my life, and I have ways of achieving success. I'd like to gift my knowledge and experience. But it is by no means the best way, the only way, or even good at all, it just works for me for the present moment. So yes, a class taught by the students. Be prepared for that if you choose to enroll.
The ultimate goal is for everybody to develop their own sense of mastery for whatever purpose, under your own principles and beliefs. I will try not to delve into metaphysics and spirituality as much as I did in the previous course, Mastery of Self. This class will be much more practical, more tangible, and more generalized. Hopefully the lessons will integrate into our everyday lives. But that is up to you students, the teachers! Consider me like the manager that gathers and organizes it all, does all the detail-oriented, mind-wrenching paperwork and then sets it into orbit. The students however will have the greatest influence on the outcome. Of course, I'll be here to get things back on track if need be. And I can smack this wooden ruler pretty hard across the wrists!
Okay, so planning phase is in action. I'll take whatever input I can get from you for the plan for this class. I'll come back with some of my own ideas later. Right now I'm late for work!
EDIT: I've created a new thread for the group planning phase: http://mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=204894

You need to talk to SwordsFlameSong about teaching this class over on the new Circle of Teaching.

Yes I understand. I'm not ready to start the class yet.
According to CoT FAQs: Teachers:
The teacher will provide the CoT Manager with an outline of the proposed class and a biography of the teacher's experience in the topic.
I don't have an outline yet. I'm not sure exactly how I want to teach this course now which is why I was asking for input from potential students. I would prefer to create the outline around what the students are looking to gain most from the class. Is this okay?

You need to get the class approved first, if I'm not mistaken. Talk to SFS, she's the Manager of CoT. That is #1.

Partly, yes. It's hard for me to say right now what the new course will involve entirely but if you're interested, take a look at the archived Mastery of Self course: http://mysticwicks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=232

Inward Visionary - just send the outline when you are ready and we can go from there.
