We just received some horrible news...

A friend of my sister lost his memory... Not yet twenty years old.
Saturday last week he broke his nose in the swimming pool. His friend pushed him over, and he fell. On the Tuesday afterwards, during the judo classes, he asked his teacher what he was doing there, and where he was. They took him immediately to the university hospital in Ghent, from where he was escorted to Jette.
They tested his heart and such, but found nothing. A scan of his head is still out of the question, because they might damage other things.

My sister leaves tomorrow evening for Germany and is really annoyed that she cannot go and visit him anymore. We don't know what is going on, and where this will lead to. He remembered his girlfriend, but not how long they have been dating. That broke his heart...

Keep him in your thought please. I don't ask for prayers, or such, just a candle and a moment of your time. He's an awesome guy and I'm really worried too.

Small update... It seems he will leave the hospital soon. Luckily with some good news. Depends on the view on it, but oh well.
He's short term memory was hit. He does not remember a thing from Saturday till Tuesday (and after that day). It remeans unclear if he ever will.

It's not that good, but it could have been worse... I feel for him...

I spoke to Sean briefly last night on MSN. He's home now, but he was very reluctant to talk about all that has happened over the last week. His heart was not the problem, luckily, so that leaves the brain. I have no idea what will happen next, but at least he's home, where he can recover in peace, and with his girlfriend by his side.

Thank you everyone!

Many hugs to him!
He needs a CT scan first to rule out fractures around his orbital and temporal bones!
