I haven't had dental coverage in years, and finally got coverage. Just in time for an abscess on one of my bad wisdom teeth to decide to form :( I'm going to the dentist in the morning, because the dentist that accepts my coverage around here only accepts emergencies at 8:30 a.m. (ugh... get up early and irritated tooth...) It doesn't hurt. My wisdom teeth are so bad that I pretty much have no nerves left in them, but I just know they're going to want to extract them, and that probably won't be pleasant. Any energy would be greatly appreciated!

I don't mind the dentist. It's the needles in the mouth that get me *shiver*

I don't like most of the tools that they have, especially the drills. :(

I haven't been able to afford to go. Finally, I got state coverage, but the waiting list for a standard appointment is insane. I made an appointment in June, and it's not until December 19th. But they do accept emergency patients for abscesses and severe tooth pain, so I get to go early! All four of my wisdom are there. Sort of. They never came completely through, and over time, not being able to see a dentist, they have all started to break down and crack out.

*shiver* I sooooo don't need to be talking about this :( 'Cuz then I'll talk myself out of going, and I can't let the infection get any worse, so I have to go!

Come down here, my dentist is HOT---actually they all are, we tease it is a GQ dentist office, requirement is they must all be hot to work there. It does not take away the pain or the needles, but it does HELP the whole process.
ETA: I have referred so many friends there and they all call and say the same thing....you understated the hottness. ;)

 I have no clue what my dentist looks like. This'll be my first time going to him. My first appointment is actually scheduled for December 19th, so I was just glad to find out they have emergency hours!

You'll be fine.....just try to think of something else while sitting in the chair.I've found that thinking about it is actually worse than it really is....................What done already?

UGH I've been having quite a bit of trouble with abcessed teeth lately so I know how bad that hurts....right up there with broken bones and labor. I also know how it is with the dental coverage. Was the same way for me when I was on medicaid. and they would only pull teeth they wouldn't fill cavities or anything. OUr dental coverage still only covers half of any type of procedure (check ups, cleanings, and xrays are free) So I've only been able to take care of one tooth at a time and have been having to have them pulled cause root canals are expensive. Good luck to you and I hope you atleast get some decent pain killers then so you're not in pain all week.
