CTV.ca News Staff Updated: Thu. Nov. 20 2008 9:43 PM ET--A mysterious
fireball has lit up the sky in western Canada and may have been a
meteorite which slammed into central Alberta, according to local
reports.

While it's still unknown what caused the bright light, residents from

Meteors hit every once in a while.
Thats was a nice one! I watched the videos on the news site.

We have had an active meteor period as of late.
Looks like one was to big to incinerate in the atmosphere.

Don't some religions attach significance to an event like this? Are there pagan beliefs about it?

Nope I have not been in Alberta for over 2 years. And it is not surprising it happened. ( if it is actually confirmed as a metorite) Alberta has had many other reports of metorites over the years.

OMG totally didn't see the spelling mistake! I want metorite cash too!!!

Alberta's a magnet for meteorites it seems. There was that HUGE shower a few years back and we went to watch it in the middle of no where and it was like fireworks. They were exploding all around us. You could even hear the pops as some of em blew.

It was the most beautiful (and coldest) thing I've ever seen. :weirdsmil

My beliefs...
Meteorites it things, like planets and moons and all sorts of obstacles in the universe, because they can. :)

If I had just looked out my window, which faces south, while I was making dinner I would have seen it. I'm disappointed that I wasn't paying any attention.

There, now it's a crash. :neh:

I should ask my SIL if she saw it. The video was amazing, though. I didn't think they'd be that bright.
