Has anyone been gifted or made a natural medicine rattle...for the use of healing etc...and wants to share

I was gifted a moose hoof rattle with a deer horn as the handle ...there is a small pin in it so that I can remove or replace medicine in the moose hoove...actually I went moose hunting a few years before and the elder that made the medicine rattle for me had aquired the actual moose hoof from the moose that I was gifted with...

if ya all want to share I would love to...

I received an asson - an elaborately beaded gourd with a bell on the end - when I was initiated as Houngan Si Pwen in Vodou in March 2003. The asson is used to call on the spirits and can be used to induce possession.

if I might ask.........how do you use your rattle, and for what different rituals

I dont do any rituals.
I just do my work.
I use rattles like any other sound vibrating tools in the music family to help me focus for shifting consciousness on demand.

I have a rattle I made from a black bear skull and a deer leg. Since Black Bear helps me with negotiating with spirits, I use the rattle to call in those who are welcome at a particular ritual, while keeping out those who are not. It's also intended for other spirit-related work as well. (No, this isn't anything indigenous; my practice is of my own creation.)

Crazy Crow Trading Post has Nat. Amer. rattles. One shaped like a turtle the other made of turtle shell. This type is used by the Eastern Woodland tribes. Gourds are used in the S. West. Horns by the plains trbes.

I make my rattles out of essentially papier maché. I soak strips of paper in water mixed with natural glue and flour, building the shell up around a form (balloons work nicely, since they can be popped and pulled clean out).

Then I paint to my heart's desire, attach to a handle and decorate like crazy.

Mine is used as a tool to drive out, drive off, or otherwise beat boundaries.

The turtle rattle I have is made from wet formed rawhide & a small round one too. I'm getting ready to make one from a small cow horn. I'm also going to put white bone handles on my knife. I been using a white bone handled dagger. That I bought from the Ren store. I buy them to start then learn to make my own. I got a real turtle shell that i'm tying figguer out how to put a handle on?
