Cambridge University Egyptologist Sally Ann Ashton believes the computer-generated 3D image is the best likeness of the legendary beauty famed for her ability to bewitch and beguile.

Pieced together from images on ancient artefacts, including a ring dating from Cleopatra's reign 2000 years ago, it is the culmination of more than a year of painstaking research.

Very interesting! I did a paper on Cleopatra the Seventh for my Historical Methods class. From the different books i read, some historians think that her mother was Cleopatra the Fifth Tryphaina, but then others think it may have been an Egyptian woman. Cleopatra was an amazing woman! :uhhuhuh:

Thats quite funny, because the tv series called "Rome" has a cleopatra that looks just like that.

I was telling my boyfriend I always pictured cleopatra as much prettier and having long hair. I hate when technology proves me imagination wrong :(

1. It's Daily Mail. Thus, it fails by default.

2. WTF is with the cornrows?

You just like to cut yourself off from possible interesting articles, don't you? Even when the article appears in the Daily Mail, it's a nice start for future investigations leading to more reputable sources.

She does look a bit like her, Cleopatra definitely seemed an interesting person, I'd love to learn more about her.

QFT, just 'cause it's the Daily Mail, doesn't mean everything they write is shit, it's a paper, with biases, like every other media institution (or anything really).

Interesting. I know theres always been a divide about what Cleopatra really looked like. And of course there are going to be some people who aren't going to agree with this either. But at least its something for people to start with.

Except it's biases tend to be more than most other news agencies. Take everything you read from Daily Mail with a larger than normal grain of salt. However, that's not discounting this article though.

I dunno... they didn't make her look very lifelike. So I don't see how this is much different from any other interpretations of how she looked. Same as a drawing.

And wtf IS with the cornrows?
