I hope this is the right place, could anyone tell me everything they know about the constellation Orion? Literal things, or old myths relating to him. If I said why you'd all think I'm nuts but I really feel I need to figure out something and that "The Hunter" is the key to it all.

I'm sorry if this comes across harshly but if it is that important why not do the searches for yourself and find out? I would think that if it called to you that much or held that much potential then you would take the time to reseach yourself to have all the stories not just what may interest us as individuals.

He is also tied to the Goddess Artemis.
There's some to get started but you'll have to do the rest on your own.

Well yes I have been searching on my own quite a bit actually i just have trouble understanding things I read, so when I ask for others to help me out, alot of times they put it in their own words which makes it easier for me to understand then say a wiki entry etc.

Ah, ok that is a horse of a different color so to speak. As a suggestion instead of asking us what we know and to relate it why not tell us what you have found and maybe we can expound on it from there.
Makes it a little easier to fill in the blanks than to try and write the intial script. It also allows you to address or indicate area's that may be of more importance to your question.
For instance one story says that Artemis killed Orion as he floated upon the waves after being tricked into a test of skill with her brother.
Another story says he was killed after he stepped on the scorpion. The gods feeling pitty and loss at his death had him and his hounds placed into the night sky.
Two very different tales as to how he died.
Some claim he was killed because of a boast that he could hunt and kill any beast. This one sort of times back to Artemis as the Huntress and her skill as opposed to his.

This article is quite interesting - suggesting that that area of the sky (including the bull and the seven sisters) was of interest in ice age times! It doesn't mention Orion specifically, but it does relate to that region of the sky - and of course lots of Orion mythology does relate to him hunting the bull too.
