I recommend a thread in Divination about a cheap & easy 'recipe' for scrying mirrors... & you might also check out the Arts & crafts forum for ideas...

Witchy Cowgirl posted this thread a few weeks ago about her blessing bags:

For my best friend, I'm planning on making him a notebook cover out of black denim or some heavy material with a pencil holder and a pocket or 2. My thinking is he can use it for his BoS so that it isn't scattered about and he can customize it any way he wants. Probably a matching bag for tarot or whatever else as well. He likes those handmade thingies.

I love handmade gifts and yours sounds great, Rhyla. I was looking at a site last night that had BOS' for $500, no joke! They were beautiful, but who's got that kind of money?

I took a workshop last night on sigils and I'm thinking of formulating a few for health, wealth and the like and making some pendants.

Found this thread on Witch Balls over in Arts and Crafts:

Now is about the only time of year that you can find clear, empty Christmas ornaments. They're usually available at large craft shops such as Hobby Lobby, Michael's or Garden Ridge. They make great witch balls.

The blank, plain, hard-covered sketchbooks and journals from Border's or Barnes and Nobles can be decorated to suit the person you're giving it to, with glue and pictures or interesting paper patterns made permanent by some sort of varnish or lamination, paints and markers, or even with fabrics if you're a better seamstress than I am.

...now if only I can get to the sewing machine. Found my patterns OK, but with the bathroom being repaired before the toilet falls into the basement we don't have, everything is in the living room. Can't get to the sewing machine that way.

I will probably be sewing for a lot of people.

One of my ex roomies embroidered a cushion with fleur de lys for me one year, and it's still proudly on display in my room.

Another favorite inexpensive gift was a big glass jar a friend filled with potpourri and tiny "fairy lights" then scented with essential oils. You plug in the lights which shine in the jar and the heat releases the scent of the potpourri and oil. It's pretty and wonderful smelling. The only warning is not to leave it unattended for long periods of time, rather like candles.

In addition to homemade BoS - why not decorate boxes and fill them with blank computer disks for those who keep their BoS online?
