Hi everyone!

I've been suffering horrible pain that is unbearable. As the proud owner of two black belts, I assure you I can take pain ...this is much different. I went to the E.R. Friday morning. The docs suspect my gallbladder is the culprit. I've followed their advice of low fat food, and it's not helping. I've tried natural remedies ...bleh ...those make the pain worse and longer.

I have an ultrasound for my abdomen tomorrow to find out what's going on in there.

Just asking for a little help .

Will keep everyone posted on what's going on.

Thank you all in advance!

Been there, done that, it sucks. Hope they can figure this out. If it is the gall bladder it will probably have to come out. Fortunately for you, that's not nearly as extensive a process as it was when mine had to come out 30 years ago. I was only a few years older than you are, and my daughter is facing the same situation. She's 35. Unfortunately she doesn't have health insurance to pay for surgery and hospitalization.

Sending energies to help you cope until you can get this sorted out. :hugz:

Same thing happened to my husband and he missed 2 weeks of work because of the pain. They finally figured out that he had some kind of parasite in his intestines from lack of fiber. They gave him some pills and told him to eat a lot of fiber and the pain was gone in 3-4 days. The docs did a whole bunch of blood draws and tests (including an ultrasound) before they found out what was going on. I wish I could tell you the medical term for what he had, but I forgot sorry. Hugs and hope you feel better soon!

Yeah, if its the gall bladder it hurts a LOT. However, when they yank it, after a couple days of "ick" you will feel ever so much better.

Of course , Kaosxmage...

Hope your tests are more direct with results than mine...

The worst thing about belly ultrasound though , is the gel...:smileroll

I shall hold good thoughts for your health...

If you do have to have your gallbladder out, it wouldn't be the most pleasant thing to have done, but at least your suffering would be over in a relatively short period of time. If it is something else, they will find it and get you on the right path hopefully soon.

I will have you in my thoughts and prayers. Sending positive energy your way! (and :hugz:) I want to be one of the people you update!!:uhhuhuh:

I hope they find the answers soon and get you on the mend. Nobody should be in pain. I am surprised they are not giving you some pain med for it? (I suppose they want to know what it is first though...)

It's official. The ultrasound revealed a gallbladder in need of removal. It's full of stones, sludge, and infection. Oh joy, lucky me! Bleh.

I meet with the surgeon for consultation on June 16th. Meanwhile, I'm on a round of antibiotics that were anything but cheap. Now I miss having insurance.

Thank you for all the well wishes! I appreciate you all! Keep them coming!

I hope you get well soon. I had my gallbladder out at 16 so I know the pain . I had to wait a couple of weeks as well where I ate the BRAT diet (Banana's,Rice,Apple sauce and Toast) as well as a lot of jello. :) and rode my bike around our block a lot to pass the time haha. I ended up losing 20lbs before surgery..

Keep us posted on how your doing! :hugz:

This is good - no really. They checked it and it will soon be out. Mine went on like that for almost 10 years, because they couldn't believe anyone as young as I was could have a bad gallbladder. By the time someone actually tested for it, I was days away from having it rupture. I know its rough right now, and not having insurance sucks, but really a few days after the surgery you will be ever so happy. That awful internal, right under the heart searing pain will be gone. (and it never comes back).

Im lucky that the ER my parents sent me to did test me. The doctor wasnt all that nice. I had peeked out at one point and saw him chowing down on donuts. He came in and asked me what I ate and I said dinner and a brownie for dessert and he told me I shouldnt be eating brownies; so I said to him "and maybe you shouldnt be eating those donuts" haha

I think I was out 2 week or less from school. light duty for a week and then was feeling back to normal within a month.. I agree though that pain never comes back and the little pain from having the scope is well worth it..

Gallbladder is out and gone. Surgery was yesterday. Now just recovering. The gas has settled into my right shoulder, and that sucks, otherwise it's just generally sore.

Will be back when I can sit here comfortably.
