I've seen numerous debates on this, and other boards, about John Edwards, and whether or not what he is doing is real. IMO...
He is real..Sometimes. After watching so many of his shows, I've come to the conclusion that it is impossible to prove, or disprove his talent. Why?
Okay..How many of us consider ourselves empaths? And yet, are our intuitions always 100% right? Why should it be differen't for John Edwards? Because he has a television show, and makes so much money off of it? IMO..the reason WHY he has a television show, and makes so much money off of it, is because whether or not he is always 100% right, he is opening up peoples perceptions about all of the mysteries of the universe that we cannot explain. Not only that, but he is bringing comfort to millions of people.
I don't believe that any Psychic, or Channeller can always be 100% right. My personal experience, has shown me that :)
What do I mean by personal experience? Well..this summer, I had a couple of experiences with Channelling.
My neighbor had asked me to use the Ouija board with her. The Ouija has never really "worked" for me, but I was willing to go along with it. So...I set up the living room, with candles, incense, and protection, and sat down to the Ouija with her. She was hoping to contact her Mother, who died of Cancer several years ago. To aid in that endeavor, she wore her mothers rings that night, and put pictures of her mother on the table, near the board. After a while of nothing "concrete" coming through the board, I started to feel a little..strange. I took my hands off the board, and sat quietly for a moment, smelling the incense, and grounding myself. The temperature in the room had dropped significantly, and the hair on my arms, and hers, had risen. I started to hear..."Static Noise" . I asked her to turn off the television, because I could swear that I heard the television going in the other room. She told me the telvision wasn't even on. The sound was almost like being at a party, and leaving the room. You can still hear all the voices in the room, however, they all sort of blend together. So you can't make out exactly what they are saying. I continued to try to ground myself, and all of a sudden, one voice, or one energy, started to come out on top of all the others. I started to feel my lip become numb, and droopy. And I turned to my neighbor and asked, "Shannon, who was the person with the droopy lip, born that way, or had a stroke. The left side of his mouth drooped all the time" and when I spoke, my words were a little slurred. She grew a little pale, and told me that her mothers brother was born with a type of palsy in that side of his face, and that it especially effected his mouth, and his speech. What followed, was about three hours of information coming through me, to her. I brought up things that there was simply NO way I could have known! "Your mothers favorite night gown, it was blue, with little flowers on it. She wore it all the time. You had to make sure it was cleaned every day, because she had to have it at night". She said.."Oh, My God. I gave that to my mom for Christmas the year that she was diagnosed. And it was so comfortable, that's exactly the case. She couldnt' wear any other nightgown, or robe. It was the only one she thought was comfortable. Yes, it was blue, with little flowers on it. As a matter of fact, she was buried in it.". And I said.."She was also buried barefoot, wasn't she?". This was affirmed, quickly. There were things such as "Your dads favorite movie, was the amazing mr. limpit". "The music at your moms funeral...there was a spiritual sung. I want to believe it was amazing grace, but it doesn't feel like it. I'm hearing patsy cline, and a song that begins with an 'A' ". Again, this was confirmed. The song was Patsy Clines version of "A Closer Walk with Thee". Certain locations, kept popping up into my head. Such as Bangor Maine, which is where her Mother spent her last vacation with them, visiting friends. A "Wolf Den, or Wolf Lodge?". which was the name of the shopping plaza that they always stopped at for coffee, right before going to the Hospital, for her chemotherapy. I smelled Lemons VERY strongly. And I said.."What was your mothers obsession with Lemons.I keep smelling Lemons...". She laughed then, and said that her mother would ONLY use lemon scented cleaning products in their house. A couple of times Shannon had brought home generic brands, without the lemon scent, and her mother would be so angry at her, that she'd be made to go right back out, and get the "Real Thing".
This went on for like..three hours, as I said. It was nonstop. A couple of things, were things that she didn't really understand. Such as the Onyx Jewlery that her Mom kept showing me. And the Anna Maria in her family. So I told her to remember them. A couple of weeks later, Shannon had her Sister up visiting from Florida. And she asked her sister about the Onyx Jewlery, and the Anna Maria. She was like.."Oh my God, shannon. I can't believe you don't remember this! Dad bought Mom a big onyx ring, and bracelet for Christmas the year that she died. Remember, Aunt Mary took it when she died?". I stopped at the name "Mary" and asked.."Was Mary her real name?" Turns out. Aunt Mary's real name, was Anna Maria. But she didn't like it as it sounded too religious.
So...my point in recounting my experience, is that I can understand how John Edwards "Does It" I can't really explain HOW it works. My personal theory is that what is happening, is that rather than actually communicating with the other side, what you are doing is picking up energy imprints, subconscious memories, tuning into the peoples energy imprints left upon this world. That is my personal belief. Then again, it could really be that you ARE communicating with this person on the other side. I don't stop too long to ask the hows. The fact that it DID was proof enough for me. What I DID concentrate on, was the WHY's. At the time that this happened, Shannon really needed to feel that her Mom was watching over her, and that her mom would have been proud of her, for her mothering skills. And what came through, was an overwhelming air of approval from her mom. It was very strong. While Shannons Sister was visiting, Shannon played me a tape that her mother had made prior to her death. On it, she spoke directly to Shannon. "Shannon, you can do anything you want to do with your life. You have a beautiful family, a beautiful son, and you are a beautiful mother". When I heard her mothers voice, I got goosebumps all over, and the hair on my arms stood up again. It was the STRONGEST affirmation of what had happened. A Real Validation that what had happened that night, had been real. Because the energy put across in that tape, was the very same energy I felt, in the channelling. I never met the woman. Had only known Shannon for about two months. Didn't know a THING about her mom, and yet, this happened.
Can I do it upon demand? Whenever somebody asks me to? No. Have I done it since? Only twice. Do I think it's some special power? No. I believe that everyone can do it. To me, it came over me so easily, so suddenly, so NATURALLY, I can't imagine it NOT being something accessible to all people. I think that what happens, is that MOST people don't really take the time to sit and open themselves up to it. I think most people brush off the insights they get, as either paranoia, silliness, or unimportant. So they don't SAY what they are "feeling" or "hearing". Or..they just forget it an instant after it is given to them.
This is why I believe that what John Edwards is doing IS real. I've experienced it. I know it CAN happen, and i'm not holding against him the times that he's NOT correct. I don't think anyone can always be 100% correct. I think he's going out there every time he films a show, or does a private reading, feeling immense pressure to BE right. So..at those times, it's not coming upon him naturally. His WILL to be "Correct, or On the Money" kind of cancels out the natural flow of what happens. It's not something one can force.
Has anyone else had an experience with a Medium, or had an Experience where they WERE a medium? Were your impressions similar to mine?
Have you had experiences where the person just totally didn't get anything right at all, or that what they were saying was so general, that you really felt ripped off by the experience?
