About meditation, when you are breathing, in Tai Chi and Qi Gong which i learn, you breath in your diaphram for healthier blood circulation and for health improvement, life improvement and healing. In meditation do you breath in your chest, in deep breaths, or in your diaphram if you are capable of it?

As a vocalist, I'm trained to breathe through my diaphragm for better oxygen intake...but I find chest breathing is more useful for meditation. When I breathe "downward", it makes me feel heavier and held to the ground, but breathing "upward" makes me feel more free and gives me more of a sense of calm. :)

When I do meditation, either one feels the same to me as for breathing. Usually I breathe from the diaphram and focus at times on the breathing in order to relax. I have found for myself this is handy for me if I'm having trouble sleeping. But if you're more comfortable with chest breathing, then by all means, do it that way. There is no wrong way in doing it.

but you might try focusing your attention on your breath as it enters and leaves the tip of your nose; simply observing your breath. Try to keep your spine straight.
