Tommorow I am going to explore the possiblity of getting the promotion I have been gunning for. It's for a part time cake decorator...and I have been dreaming of being a cake decortor for three years and tried to work my way towards that goal and met only crushing disspointment. But I think I may have a slight possiblity to at least being concitered for it tommorow. I know a manager in that store who knows how hard I work, and said he'll give me a good word. I have taken the classes and worked the bakery job for years...I want this desperatly. Not only is it something I have wanted for years, but if I get it, than it's a pay increase that sorely need!

Keep me in your thoughts! :boing::boing:

Well I didn't get it. :( I suppose I probably should haven't have gotten my hopes up, I don't really think I'll ever get that job after all the desperate failures I have suffered in my attempts at it. But thank you for your postive thoughts...at the very least I am sure they will help me out with my dire money probs. :)

Sorry that you did not get it this time.

Perhaps you can put more in your portfolio to take on interviews ?

I for one would love to see some of your pics. I can hardly frost a cake. I am so envious of the people that can turn a cake into art.

((hugs))

Well unfornatly at this store it's not a matter of portfolio...it's a matter of how many cakes you can make in an 8 hour shift, which makes no sense to me, but I can EVER land the postion it at least opens the gate for employment in a real bakery where its quality not quantity. From what it sounded like, it sounds like I was bit to late...and lost the job to someone without a lick of experience.

Here are some of my cakes...sadly these are only just a wee bit beyond beginer leveal, but I have all the nessary skills for advancement.

Well, that's more than I could do!

Practice, practice, practice, and your speed and skill level will improve, and go out there and apply at all kinds of bakeries and catering services if that is what you really want!

Best of luck,
Clair
