My son just did something to his leg and a big chuck of skin is missing ( and there is no sign of the missing piece ) and pretty deep where you can see a vein. We are on the way to the hospital. My son is ok staying calm getting a bit mad at himself and what this will mean for him. My husband on the other hand is panicked and well me I am just trying not to get sick (have yet to eat today and was not well before this).
So please send energies to my son and husband . Me I think I am going to be ok now just keep deep breathing.
Thanks for reading and helping.

Good thoughts for you.
I fell through a plate glass window and had deep holes in my forearm where the glass scooped out muscle. Severed the major artery in my forearm and took chunks out of two veins.
Years later, I have 4 lifelong scars that aren't that bad (2 are barely noticable) and my arm is fine. It did take a year for it to heal properly, but it healed quite well with only minimal stitches.

Energy on the way for all to remain calm and able to deal with this, and then for healing for the injury. With little ones, we sometimes never find out how they hurt themselves.

Hello I just got home. I am drained and going to go cuddle my little trooper. He has 8 internal stitches and 11 on the top layer of skin. He did not have any medication at all, but was very calm and doing his version of meditation, holds his hands a certain way and does "ohm" repeatedly. And I guided him along with his deep breathing. The doctor and nurses were very proud of how he staid still, because not many boys his age would have.
There was a total of three times he said Ow, or jumped, but he did not cry. In fact he was so tired and relaxed he almost fell asleep. The only time he panicked was when the doctors and nurses mentioned the Needles then he got a a bit upset but we started doing the breathing again and he was fine. He watched the whole thing and talked to the doctor. He even told him to be careful :)
I kept it together up until an hour after we were at the hospital and the stitching actually was under way. Emphatically I was at my limit. It was not so much that his leg being stitched was to much for me it was seeing those few times he was in pain and jumped or said Ow that did get to me.
The doctor looked at me at one and said are you ok? I thought I was and then I felt the tears and could no longer ground. He said there is nothing wrong with me stepping out side to take a breather and I decided that I should go out in the hall so I did not upset Sylvan. Gord was finally calmed so it was like we were Yin and yang. He was calm and I had my break down and let it all out in the hall, a nice nurse named Brenda asked if I was ok and I told her that I had my son in the room getting stitches and that I thought everything that happened this morning was just now hitting me really hard and that I would be ok in a few minutes. And I was and I went back in the room.
As for his leg itself he is very lucky that he did not cut it any deeper or he would have cut it clean to the bone and even done damage to his knee cap. So I am glad that did not happen.
One thing I was a bit on edge about is the people that were helping us today were student's but on the other hand I was glad that one of the nurses was on the ball and asked the docotor about certain things because he forgot a few things.
Anyways my son was a trooper and all he was worried about this morning was our missing our photo shoot for my tarot deck and who was going to water his garden while he was not able to be outside for the next week. I told him he did not have to worry the photos can wait it was not like there was a deadline for me to have these photos done and that I was sure everyone else could help out with the garden.
Thanks everyone for your help and please just keep him in your thoughts and prayers for another 10 days I would appreciate it. We get the stitches taken out then and I just want to make sure between now and then he does not get any type of fever or infection.
Talk to you all later :huddle:

Me too he is walking around normally, but we need to just make sure he does not over do it, and that will be the hard part. He is my little helper after all and is very active :)

Nothing for the pain? That's amazing. I think he could teach me a few things about going with the flow.
I will continue to send Reiki healing energies as needed.
PS - that sounds like when my daughter was in labor with both her girls. I had to step outside a couple of times (it took about 12 hours with the first and even longer with the second). Her hubby and I took turns taking a break now and then. He actually went to get lunch because the second one was taking so long and I had to call him and tell him he was going to miss it all if he didn't hurry! When our kids are hurting, we hurt to eh?

Yes I think he has a strong pain tolerance and also he was really focussed on his meditation which I have to say for a 6 year old is awesome.

When our kids are hurting, we hurt to eh? Yes I agree. I just felt a bit disappointed in myself for having the break down when I did, I mean I made it through the worst part and was calm when I did the first Aid treatment on his leg and Calmed down my husband and remained ok for howevr long bah just wish it did not happen but it did and my Son did not seem upset with me leaving so I guess it all worked out.

That is one brave boy you have. I would have been a mess. I am not good at all with needles or stitches.
Kudos to him! I am glad he is home and you are all feeling better. Have a nice quiet night.

oh forgot to add that my son was checked for nerve damage and he checked out all ok for that he could still bend his foot and toes and walk right. So that was another relief. And to look at him now you would have not known anything happened and he did a lot of walking from the hospital to ...

4 days to go till his stitches are to be removed. I have been in a state of insomnia because I have been so scared of him tossing and turning in his sleep and popping his stitches.
Anyways we did take him to the clinic on Monday and the doctor looked at it and cleaned it that day for me and she said it was looking good and took off the pieces of tape that were keeping the skin together. One thing I did not agree with was using a cotton ball to clean it because I could see it was getting snagged on the stitches and the band-aid was not big enough.
She said come back 3- 4 days to get the dressing cleaned and I thought ah no I do it daily like I was told to at the ER. And it is a good thing I cleaned it out on Tuesday cause the cotton ball fluff was tangled in the stitches and was a pain to clean not to mention the band- aid was hurting Sylvan... even with watering down the band-aid and skin. Anyways we are back to doing the gauze and long wrap around band-aids and he is back to being more comfortable.
I will let you know how it goes on Monday and then after that I hope I can lessen some stress.

I agree, I only use cotton balls maybe once a year, probably less. They do tend to snag on things. I'd rather put a little peroxide in a small spray bottle and apply it that way - or whatever you're using to clean it with.
Best wishes for continued healing and no popped stitches until they're removed.
