Fifteen students at the Air Force Academy have tested positive for the H1N1 virus, and the number of those sickened with flu-like symptoms has risen to 89.
The students, all members of the 1,344-member incoming freshman class, have been isolated in a dorm. None has been hospitalized.

Oh man that's awful; I hope they get better soon. I would imagine it spread quickly in the dorms. We just had another few people here in NY die from it and now people are getting nervous because the fall flu season will be here before you know it.

Sorry to hear anyone is sick with it...
Especially closed quarters , like that...:uhhuhuh:
May it not spread further...and may the cure be found...

Cross your fingers, I guess. With the Fall season coming up, and with the flu having stayed relatively active throughout the summer... >>
It doesn't bode well, does it?

It isn't a good nice virus is it ? They should have quarantine Mexico , ban vacational air travel and sent every one who just came from abroad to the hospital. But no.

Elessar, what exactly would that accomplish? Aside from making us look like total lunatics, that is.
Anyhow, the number's at 67 currently positive for H1N1, with about 100 or so in observation in their rooms. About 40 have gotten well enough to go back to duty.

And how is this any different from the thousands who get sick from regular flu every year and the minute few who die? This is less dangers than the regular one.

Why is swine flu more dangerous than normal flu?
Short answer: It's not that swine flu ("pig flu") is more dangerous than seasonal flu ("normal flu"), it's that it (and other flus that affect other species) tends to be more dangerous to the entire human population as opposed to just the very young, very old and immuno-compromised.
