View Full Version : Green & Nature vs Hearth & Home

Sorry to be such a bother, if the mods want to merge topics, I understand.
Looking at my Hearth class (http://mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=224230) and the drafts for my Nature Witch class (http://mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=224485) I am seeing a lot of overlap.
Of course, one is based more indoors and the other outdoors but it suprising how much I can copy and paste from one into the other.
Which brought me to this poll :)

I voted both -- because in my mind they are somehow very intertwined and connected, so it makes more sense to combine! The connection from hearth to earth is very short to me, so.

I find both to be interesting, however I am trying to learn the path of the Green/Nature Witch. Therefore I vote only Green/Nature Witchcraft, and I have no qualms with learning this during the winter.
However if the classes are mixed I will still participate.

I'm most interested in a nature class but am also interested in a home class, so i voted nature then hearth. However if the majority is that they should be taught together then I would still be very interested in taking the combined class.

I voted for both, because I think they overlap nicely and both aspects can be applied to various areas of life.

If we combined them we could start right after New Years :) It would run about 9 weeks I'd say. A combo class would be more challenging but I'd try my best not to make it too much for parents and students and people with lives.

You need to head over here: http://circleofteaching.com
and register, then Browse Courses (there's a tab for that) click on
the course and there will be a button (bottom left) that says request enrollment, you should be able to just follow instructions from there :)
I should mention that usually they do not allow people to enroll in the course until the teacher has the majority of the class material uploaded to the site. I am working my way through that now.

Just because some teachers have dropped a class part way through before they make you upload and have your material ready to go before they let people enroll.
I am currently doing so and have a good portion of everything up and ready.
Its the holiday season so, like everyone else, I've been busy but should have everything up and the class open for enrollment in the next couple of days :)

Great! Spoon(s), plant (or potted tree) and a notebook is really all you need for the first week. I have the supplies list up that you'll be able to read once the class gets under way :)
Through this class we will be making the following:
One or more magickal wooden spoons (for cooking and digging in the dirt)
A hearthstone (a small stone that acts like an altar plate or pentacle)
A stang (a forked wand or staff)
Witch bottle(s)
Loose incense
Smudge sticks and saining bundles
Magickal powder(s)
Annoiting oil
A tincture
A household and/or garden shrine
A household or garden guardian
A wreath
A collage image (the collage will be either an ancestor collage or of a deity special to you)
Cookies
Tea
Bugscuttle

Yay!
I should be uploaded enough by monday to start enrolling. I have been recording some MP3 (podcast style) for a few of the rituals and meditations so you don't have to read from a script, if you are into playing something on your Ipod etc, so its taking me a bit longer to do that :)
I'm keeping a list of folks who email me or post here wanting to enroll and I'll just add you once we open up for enrollment :)

The following errors occurred:

And there's no button at the bottom left.

It seems a few odd things have happened, a few thread posts disappeared and a few enrolled students also. I think with Mysticwicks doing its updating we were rolled back to a previous back-up. I have no control over that and I'm sorry it happened!
So if suddenly you are no longer enrolled that is why, but you can enroll again.
