What are your favorite scrying mediums? Crystal balls? Ponds? Let's share some ideas. :)

My FAVORITE scrying medium is tea, believe it or not. I turn off all the lights and light a candle or two across the room. I make a cup of a deep, dark coloured tea and scry. It's very effective and the aroma helps a lot. :shift:

I heard a psychic on the radio once who does with coffee... I'd have to use decaf... :shaker:

I prefer a blue scrying mirror, or a blue tinted glass ball...

Embers - when I can get around a campfire. :T

I still have yet to try any other form of scrying, though.

For simple yes-no questions, I use a pendulem. In fact I just ordered some moonstone beads and silver chain from my favorite mail-order catalog Fire Mountain Gems to make one with. Currently for pendulum I'm using a necklace with a long chain on it, but the length is a bit long and I want something smaller.

For something a bit more in depth, I use a mirror that my mom gave to me that she bought when I was a kid, so I feel a strong connection with it. This is the same mirror I would look into to see what else I could see in it besides my relfection....hmmmm? I wonder if I really was following my path at 7 years old?

I suck at scrying............:wah:

.....but I do own a scrying mirror and a beautiful crystal ball. I have the ability to see visions during journey and meditation and these come to me spontaneously, so it seems that I don't see these images when I'm deliberately trying to.

Flaire, I didn't know you used "fire" divination.
I'm very interested. Is there anymore info you can give?

I've done cloud divination once. A neat experience. It was a cloudy night during a full moon. There was a stressful situation dealing for my room mate and I had taken a walk. As I sook guidence, for me to help her with the situation, I saw the clouds form into the face of a pharoah figure with the crook and flail (symbols of kingship in ancient Egypt). I'm not entire if I was seeing a past life, a suggestion of what I can possibly do, or the face of Osiris. One thing for sure, it was certainly a powerful image.

Try a search using pyromancy...

 I don't know if I've ever done anything close to what is said on the pyromancy threads here, but I go off into this place in my head while staring at the flames/embers and end up seeing things -- the 2 things that really stick out in my mind are faces & a dagger -- but I haven't done it in a while....

The best thing I can say is to "zone out".

While I use a variety of mediums--i.e. scrying mirror. one of my spheres, or one of the others, I find that I get visions mostly when I don't mean to.

I've had a tendency to "zone out" in a stare since I was a kid. It's usually while I'm waiting for something, pot of water to boil, for a bus, you know, everyday type of things.

I've gotten visions looking into that pot of water, or looking at the grass at my bus stop.

One strange thing that I've 'done' since I was little and please don't think I've gone over the deep end here  but when I stare at a rug or even a towel.

Ok, by now you've clicked on by thinking I've gone to the 'bad place'. :rotfl: But seriously! When I'm just zoned, I will see faces or symbols forming. Sometimes it's just an intitial or two, but many times I do see faces.

I've never shared that before. I always thought I was nuts! :T

I've never shared that before. I always thought I was nuts! :T No not really. When I was 7, my family went on a camping trip. I was one day sitting in front of the fire and chanting something. A family friend asked me what I was doing. I said I was trying to make the fire disappear. Several things I tried as a kid (now that I look back on it) I can easily see why I now follow the path I follow.

So no...you're not alone.

Hmmm.....come to think of it, I was able to divine while gazing at the embers of the Yule log, I posted about it somewhere.......so maybe I'm not that bad at scrying :o

I do that a lot. Especially when in the shower... don't ask... I'll see things in the... err... I don't know what to call the stuff my shower wall is made of... but I'll see images of faces or even animals and when I try to look at it later or concentrate on it, the image goes.
I've even done it at work when I'm on the comp... In the event that I am actually working (shhh!!! :T ), I'll be staring at the screen without actually seeing what's on the screen, but I'll see other things...

Anyhows... glad to know I'm not the only one. :)

I like candle gazing. I've been real interested in scrying lately. I really wish I had a ball I could use.

If you have a piece of obsidian--that is GREAT for scrying! A bowl of water works pretty well anything that keeps your focus. :)

the funny thing is I don't even have a bowl I can use. I use to have obsidian but all my stones are slowly disappearing especially my black ones. Does snowflake obsidian work?

I only see things in the computer monitor if I'm really really tired.. this probably happens because your defences are down and you are relaxed enough to allow your mind to percieve these ''images'' if you get any interesting ones let me know
