I'm so happy! I finally made the protection talismen for my friend! I used quartz that has....somehting...running through i ( sorry I'm having a brain fart, I just woke up ). Deb, the woman at my local occolt shop, said that this type of quartz is even BETTER for protection. I painted the rune symbols in white, beau tha's a protective color. I used the rune EOLH, it has many protective qualities and is good for friendship. The initals on the ther side read "S.E.A" in runic, those are his initals. Well... I just though I'd share! I know it looks kind of ... ehhh... not good. But I tried! It's hard to paint small things with a big brush!

I like the way you used your intuition and creativity to choose the runes. To clarify for some of the other members, you've used the Anglo-Saxon name Eolh for the rune Algiz. Algiz is the more commonly used name for this rune. It is associated with protective force, refuge, power and divinity.

Interesting that you associate white with protection. Red and black are also commonly used for protective intent.

Creating talismans and your own runes are an excellent way to learn them! Very nice work on your first try!

Some info on rutilated quartz (that's the stone you've got there):

A "connecting" stone, rutilated quartz helps you feel connected to family and friends when you're away from them. It's also good for repelling negative energies and is good for promoting clarity of thought and enhanced insight.

Good choice!
