Discussion on Islam, any Interest?

Hi All.

I decided to start a thread for a possible discussion on Islam. In these current times, tensions are running high, and many claims are being made about Islam through media, and various sources. It is difficult to know what is the "Truth" about Islam, and what is "Opinion" and perhaps, misconception. So I have been trying to find a Muslim Scholar, or at least an Islamic Adherant, to speak with me, with US about Islam. I received a reply from someone I contacted through a messageboard, called Islamicity. And he may be very interested in this discussion. So..I went ahead and posted a thread, hoping he would take the time to stop bye, and post his thoughts.

In the mean time, I would like to open up the thread, by asking you to post your questions about Islam. Hopefully, then, when he arrives here, he will already have some questions to answer, or a starting point at which to begin. So...the floor is open :)

Remember, this has the possibility of being a "tense" thread, so please, please, remember, the rules of "respect" while posting, and listen with open ears, and open hearts. Thanks guys.

I'm not a scholar , and far from claiming to be 'knowledgeable' ,
but I will be glad to answer quesitons regarding Islam , as much as I'm able to.

so please feel free to post any , regardless to how odd it might sound like
( I had my share of strange questions .. so don't think there're any that would surprise me anymore .. but you never know )
