Hello, i was wondering if anyone else has heard of Mount Shasta being one of the best places in the world for clear seeing, clairvoyence, meditation, seeking enlightenment and so on. I was reading this in a book, and it just so happens that im going there on a 1 month camping trip this summer. I find this kind of odd, like i was suppose to because that was originally my last choice, eventually i was really looking forward to it, for no apparant reason ( before i knew about this). I was wondering if anyone else knew about this, and if so why? I have been trying to gather some information myself.. I have noticed that many retreats from christian to eastern religions to activists and naturalists have been here for these special purposes...

Lol, sorry for all these different posts but here is something i found "The energy of the Mt. Shasta area is what is really special. It brings tremendous spiritual expansion, clearing and peace. Mt. Shasta is regarded as one of the major spiritual areas on earth and many people can feel its energy 100 miles or more away. Mt. Shasta has been written about in numerous books detailing hundreds, if not thousands, of appearances of UFO’s, angels, masters and other remarkable spiritual experiences that have taken place in this area. Visiting the area is like a pilgrimage to a great sacred place. You will hear amazing stories and see some of the most remarkable photographs in shops around town."

For sure i am bringing about 10 cameras... and hopefully i receive something more important, such as a vision or a message...

Tranquility, this post just knocked me over!
no, i have never read or heard of the things you mentioned being associated with Mt. Shasta, but i have certainly felt them!
i think ALL great mountains have this kind of aura about them. i mean, if they can have such a dramatic effect on weather patterns, they must have some physical effect on us too, don't you think. and some more than others.
Mt. Ranier (also 14,000 ft.) is quite impressive too.
but Shasta is different, and i've always noticed it. every time i'm near there i just feel... moved. sorry, it's hard to describe.
the first time i was there i noticed it. this was back in '67 when i was on my way to the World Jamboree in Idaho. i was only about 12, and still 5 years away from my first real interest in anything occulty, but i noticed it, and asked my scout master what it was. i'm sure he told me i was nuts, and to go and sit down (lol!).
but years later i went there again and camped very near. the dreams i had that night freaked me. not that they were scarey, but just so vivid!
this happened every time i was near there, and i always feel just drawn to the place like a moth to a flame.
si the last time i was there i had been practicing Wicca for about 5 years, and i intentionally tried to make a connection.
it wasn't hard at all. in fact, i don't think i could have kept the impressions away if i had tried. the Dragonfly noticed it too. in fact it was she who first brought up the subject as we got within 50 miles of Dunsmuir.
so we went to Burney Falls and found a secluded meadow with a very clear and beautiful view of the southern exposure. we sat and meditated, knowing that we couldn't stay too long due to the long drive we still had ahead of us. it was only 10, maybe 15 minutes tops. or so it seemed.
we actually were there for an hour and a quarter! just completely outside of time. D'fly thought for sure that the clock in the car had gone wacky!
ah yes, Shasta.
like i said, all mountains have some power that is tangible. i like Broken Top too, in the Sisters Wilderness here in Oregon. and as i stated, Ranier is quite powerful.
but they are nothing like that 'otherworld' in Northern California, and i can never go by there now without stopping and acknowledging its presence.
thanks for the post!

I've heard of Mt. Shasta being considering a very holy/magical place before. I've never been there myself. As an interesting side note, it figured very prominently in a Heinlein book I read once. *shrug*
grrr... Now I'm gonna have to paw through every Heinlein book in my library til I remember the title. :P
