My best friend has been living in Switzerland for the past year. It was a really big step for her, because her family are very conservative and were basically forbidding her to leave the U.S. She's been struggling this whole time to save money so she can continue to live, work and study in Geneva. She speaks fluent French, but has dyslexia, and she has a very important test this weekend that will determine whether or not she is accepted to the university she really wants to go to.
Her grammar and spelling are poor enough in the English language, and now she is freaking out that she is going to fail the French test and have to go back to the U.S. and depend on her family. She's just found a new apartment and a job and things are really looking up for her (prospects had been a bit dim for the previous few weeks) but this test is looming ahead of her and she's feeling lonely and unable to cope.
I'm asking that anyone who can set aside the time please light a candle for my friend and send some encouraging energy her way. I know that if she is confident enough and has enough people supporting her that she will succeed, and I really want this to happen for her. She is by far the most wonderful and selfless person I've ever known, and she deserves this happiness.
Thank you.
