View Full Version : Passing of a pet

I'm a Professional Pet Sitter, and I got a phone call from one of my first regular clients today---they have to put their wonderful dog to sleep. He has cancer and the tumor has gotten so large he can't keep food down and he has breathing problems.

I become so attached to my client animals that when I lose one it's like losing one of my own animals.

I had a good cry, and now I"m trying to remember all of the wonderful times I spent with this special dog.

Please, energy for the owners, guidance to the Summerlands for "Dino" and if you can spare it--a little prayer of comfort for me.

Thanks.

Thank you both so much, I really appreciate it.

I thought I'd put up a couple of pictures of him.

My best friend lost his best buddy to cancer just after the New Year. We all still miss him greatly. Hugs and comfort for you and Dino's owners and all Dino's other friends. May he be welcomed to the Summerland with a meaty bone to chew on and a zillion trees to "mark".

Man, I hate these pet posts. I don’t know the animal or you but these things always make me tear a bit, some times a lot. Animals are such a gift. I’m so glad we don’t have to live on this planet alone. My thoughts to you, Dino, and his people.

Safe passage over the Rainbow Bridge, Dino.

As for you... hugs on your loss. He may not have been YOUR dog, but you loved him.

A close friend's cat died last week, and he was absolutely heartbroken. He'd had it for more than a decade and that cat was like his child. He was halfway across the country when he found out, and called home sobbing. I wish there was something to make it easier for everyone who loses a beloved pet.

Thank you all so much. Even though Dino was not my dog--when I sat for him he seemed like he was, and so I miss him as my own.

Such a sweet happy dog.

Sigh. I've lost another pet (well, clent pet). Angie. A silly ragamuffin looking dog. She had the most intelligent looking eyes and whimsical face.

Her mama is heartbroken, she is a complete dog fanatic. She's also one of the most lovely people I know. She does a lot of volunteer work for the Humane Society and PETA. She feels lost--I might have a gift for her though--a little stray dog I rescued on Samhain. I am not home enough to give him the attention he needs--and even if she doesn't keep him permanently, he would give her something to focus on. Plus, he is a wonderfully loving puppy. A Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix.

Prayers for Jan (the mama) and a swift and easy passage to the Summerland for Angie.

You've got it.

One of my best friends had to put down her first baby yesterday too. Her cat had kidney failure as a result of what theys uspect was cancer.

(((HUGS))) and energy to those who have lost their special friends.
