A woman told me once that I should only wear jade on my left hand (oh I think it was the left, I hope it was the left! LOL). Does anyone hear know why that would be?

Do you know any other "rules" about jade?

I found this on it. Personally I think it's just one of those pieces of obscure confusing Eastern folklore.

Jade should be set in gold on a Wednesday. It can also be set on a Friday or Saturday. The piece of jade should weigh at least five carats. The proper rituals should be performed to install the stone in its setting, and the ring should be worn on the little finger of the right hand for men and of the left hand for women, within one or two hours after sunrise on a Wednesday of the bright half of a lunar month. The ring should be made when Mercury is in its own sign of Virgo, or in a friendly sign, a constellation tenanted by Mercury, or a constellation friendly to Mercury.
The mantra to be chan ted is: Om bum budhaya namaha om.

Jade for healing purposes should be worn on the left side. It is the most conductive to the heart and healing.

While the rules of jade are varying, I always hold to this, the darker the jade the stronger the energy. Jade set in silver is in tribute to the Goddess and in gold is to the God. Purple jade should never be given as anything other than a gift of friendship. To give as a "present" ie; birthday, yule etc.... will weaken the bond between the two people.

It is an amazing stone for kidney healing, just ask my urologist! I have been jade wearing (left hand pinkie ring and third hole earring ) and kidney stone free for 4 years!

Namaste

most stones are worn on the left hand side, as it is the "passive" site. But this only applies to right handed people. If you are a left handed person, your passive site will be most prolly the right.

One uses the passive site, so the stone can "enter" you more easily. If you are actively using/needing jade, you would wear it on your active site.

Hope i have made mself clear. If not, feel free to ask
