animal spirit guides

i've been reaserching on sites, and i found something interesting. that some practitioners (sry for misspelling possibly) use the help of animal spirit guides. like, you have your own, and can meet them through meditation and astral travel..etc. i tried, i meditated and asked for my guide to come forth if they though i was ready. nothing happened for a while..but then i heard a voice whisper in my ear the name of my spirit guide. i was really surprised, i had been asking for months and nothing had happened. so i opened my eyes and jumped up. (kinda stupid of me i think.) since then, i cant seem to find them again. i dont know, cause i stopped involving myself in paganism and such. i went through a phase where i thought i was wrong..i'm a weirdo i know. anyways. i think i need help finding them again, or advice, or are they mad at me for stopping? did i do somehting wrong? if anyone knows anything on this..i'd love your help. thanks.

P.S. not everyone chooses to know/use the help o spirit guides (at least thats what i read). if you haven't heard of it, thats no surprise, i had never heard of it either. i'm just worried no one would know, but thats probably not that case..ah well. sorry for the looooooong post. thanks again.

Sometimes your guide or guides won't appear to you for awhile as a kind of test, to see how serious you are about meeting him or her. The fact that you were told the name is so exciting! You are NOT stupid or wierd! Just go back to meditating on it, do it every day and see what happens. If you are sincere about it I'm sure you'll meet your guide soon.

My spirit guide is an Owl, and I don't hear much from it. But when I really need to know something Owl manages to let me know.

There are a couple of older threads around here about spirit guides / animal totems. Phoenix Blue has some interesting info about each of us having seven guides (I thinks its 7). Use the search button at the top of the page and look for spirit guides or totem animals.

My spirit guide is Sadie, we've been great friends for ages, literally. We've talked for a while now, since I was in grade school. She used to tap at my bedroom window and ask me to come out and play. I'm so jealous of her though, she has this great, blonde hair! She's gorgeous!

I don't have what I would call an animal spirit guide, but I do have an affinity with birds, particularly owls and ravens. My name is Celtic for raven, so that kinda puts a little hop in my step.

my animal spirit guide is a turtle. i did an incantation to help with lucid dreaming focusing on finding my spirit guide. they came to me telling me that everything is going to be ok. this was after my grandmother died so i was still kind of upset

My animal guide was a sacred cow, pure white with gold adornments on her horns. I used to know her name, but it evades me now. She was so beautiful, and she had a small green creature on her back, I remember her name, it was Tilly, she was kinda resentful about being a guide for me and didn't talk much, kept her back to me, sitting oon the cow's back.
They have either moved on, or I am being tested, all my old guides don't come anymore, i have one new one. But she is a human spirit, not and animal guide, and would therfore be OT.

Mine is a black panther but most recently a great wolf has been appearing to me in my dreams its cool, I know my spirit guide too her name is Delores. Just relax try to meditate on it or dream on it, it may be they have nothing to offer you or you may not be ready for they have. Sometimes I see my guide in my dreams she never has a face and she is telling me something but I cant understand her or even hear her. I read somewhere its because I am not ready for the message. When my Grandmother passed it was the same she would talk to me but I couldnt hear now I hear her clearly and understand most the messages. Its a journey not a race let them come to you when the time is right, dont rush it just relax.

I don'[t know much about spirit guids, or animal guids or what not. One person told me that your animal guid is assigned to you at birth. So then changeing guides is impossible. *shrug* I dont know if thats true or not. Another person told me that you can choose what form to see your guid in. Once I tried to get into contact with my animal guid. I had a very vivid dream that I was at a park near a river with green grass. Its a park where i had played several times as a child. I found my dog who had died several years ago sitting there, so I walked over, petted him and asked him if he was my spirit guid, he just parked and then the dream was over. I was 8 when we got my dog, as a puppy, and he died when iwas about 19, he lived 11 years. it was a black lab (50%) and neighbordogdownthestreet(50%) he displayed some traits of a pointer. I miss my dog.

A friend of mine whom I havnt seen since July 29th 2001 ( I miss him alot ) said that his kickboxing instructor assigned him a animal guid, A Purple Dragon named see - tay, wel thats how it was pronounced, but I dono how he spelled it. I always thaught him kinda weird though. He said some people could see his lil dragon friend, but I never could.
Is there any way I can use his lil dragon friend to contact him?

My animal guide is a wolf named Greybane. He is grey with amber eyes and he comes to me when I am in danger or he needs to tell me something important.

My animal spirit guide was a ferral cat for as long as I could remember. One time during meditation he came to me and said that he had to leave me, there was someone who needed him more than I did, but not to worry, he was going to someone close to me so if I ever needed him, he would be near and could hear my calls. He said that a new guide would come to me soon, and I would know them when I saw them. Since then, I have seen an increase in crows around me. They have become my messenger, of sorts. When I am trying to send a message to my Lord or Lady, he will take my thoughts upon his wings and fly away. And he brings me answers and lessons on his wings as well. :) I have not learned his name, so I call him Crow.

I have a spirit guide who is a "human" spirit. He has been with me since I was a small child, probably birth. He is an older native american and says he is my Grandfather. That is what I am to call him. He is not my grandfather, but my great great grandfather. Who was a cherokee indian. He is not the grand chief that so many people think of when they think "indian spirit guide". He is an "average" looking man, he has seen many years and knows many things and has tought me many lessons. He has also protected me for all of my life. :) I feel I am truely blessed to have him beside me.
