Is there a particular crystal I could take with me to help me?

I'd suggest carnelian for confidence and aventurine for luck.

I like Jade and Tiger Eye. That's what I usually take to interviews and it hasn't failed me yet.

citrine is great for confidence, its also a stone of abundance. It never needs cleansing.
