Nightmares, huh. Try playing the Silent Hill series. Then you'll get REALLY bad nightmares. :lookaroun :hairred: :bug: :wah: :evilway:

The dreams that really piss me off are the ones where you're walking, and for NO reson whatsoever, you trip over NOTHING, fall down, and just before you land on your face, you JERK awake with a sudden start, and don't go back to sleep for, like, 50 hours, or something.

Well when I am having a nightmare i can usually change it... It is hard though sometimes the fream does not want you changte it to butterflies and bunny rabbits, but if you try hard enouhg you usually can!

I used to have the skill of forcing myself awake when something was happening that I didn't like. I don't like the idea of controlling my dreams, so I just force myself to wake up.

I've gotten out of practice though 'cause it recently got difficult to force myself awake.

Its like something you have to keep working at all the time...

Not long ago I had a dream that I was dying (could feel my soul leaving)...when it got down to my feet I woke up/wouldn't let it go. I hope I wasn't just about to astral travel...but I really felt like I was dying/better wake up & stop it.

Last year when I was getting used/ripped off/raped/assaulted & stalked...I had a dream of my dead mom. She was pissed. I assumed she wanted me to get out of there & come back to my daughter. I packed my sh*t & left the next day.

Otherwise I don't normally dream/haven't in yearssssss. And now that I'm on sleeping pills I don't dream much again. I'm glad cuz almost all I dream about are people I can't have or dead people.

A week to the day after I married my 1st hubby, I had a vivid nightmare of him killing me. Every time I "woke up", something happened to make me realize I wasn't awake, and I'd suddenly find myself back in bed, about to get stabbed/shot/whatever. I think I cycled about five times before I finally woke for real. We ended up splitting about five months later. *shudder* Almost twelve years ago, & I can still remember that night like it was yesterday.

Then of course, you could be dreaming lucidly, which can be a very handy thing. You can learn to control the direction of your dreams if you can wake up inside them. I've heard that if you're dreaming lucidly and ask a question - ANY question - you'll get an answer, but not from yourself. Never had the chance to try it though - the few times I've realized I was lucid-dreaming, I woke up almost immediately. :P
