Ok, so I had this dream the other night that I was in this HUGE leaded crystal birdcage, it was over 300 feet tall, with a talking owl. The owl was bigger than the average owl, and was talking to me. And I understood the owl language. Then this wolf appears, talks for a few minutes, then leaves with another wolf.

It was such an awesome dream! The cinematography :) was excellent...I can still picture it. BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY WERE TELLING ME, and I think it was important.

Any suggestions for remembering this?

I'm no dream expert lol but i put your dream into a computer dream anlyisation thing. And it tells you what the objects, animals, places etc mean in your dream. Heres what it says.

Words like night: Darkness. Mystery. Unconscious contents. There is a mystery that you want to penetrate.

Words like crystal: Essential self. Clarity. Focus.

Words like feet: socks signify clothing problems

Words like talking: Conversation. Communication. Seeking for a way to express something.

Words like owl: Warning of the approach of a deceitful person. It denotes a narrow escape from desperate illness or death.

Words like talking: Conversation. Communication. Seeking for a way to express something.

Words like leaves: Changes approaching. Cold feelings

"Words like feet: socks signify clothing problems"

I have a clothing and/or shoe problem everyday!!! I have nothing to wear (I am a bit of a clothing/shoe addict, and therefore I never have enough)!

hmmmmm...last week in the tarot experiment I was told to watch out for a decietful person in my future, and here it is again (words like owl). I would have never put that with an owl though, I think of them as wise and all-seeing, referring to how they hunt at night.

Owl

An owl represents wisdom and in some instances, higher education. this is a symbol that must be integrated with the entire dream to determine its meaning. The sound of an owl hooting is a dream of a different kind as this sound presages disappointments and reverses, unless you chase it away.

OwlWarning of the approach of a deceitful person. It denotes a narrow escape from desperate illness or death.
Owldream interpretation
meaning of dreamIt is another symbol for the unconscious. It usually represents wisdom and virtue, and your unconscious may be giving you important massages, so pay attention to the details in the dream. In the American Indian tradition, the owl is considered to be the eagle of the night. Dreaming about owls is a powerful dream, which may indicate that changes are on the way. Superstition based dream interpretations suggest that dreaming about an owl is a negative omen, which indicates a reversal in good fortune. An owl in the house predicts family arguments and chasing it away might cause things to work out for the best.

Wolves
dream interpretation
meaning of dreamWolves may have positive or negative meaning and may represent good or evil in dreams. They could represent hostility, aggression, sneakiness, and ferocious appetites. In some cultures, wolves represent feminine energies and in others masculine. In the Native American culture and tradition, the wolf is a symbol of a mysterious and wonderful teacher. Wolves are considered to be powerful guides who offer wisdom and enlightenment. When interpreting your dream consider your feelings in it and the mood upon awakening. If you were mesmerized and not afraid, then give your dream positive meaning and accept its message.

I totally agree and don't discount the Coyote either, he's a trickster and also a teacher.

Both Wolves and Owls can go in either direction. They are wisdom. But wisdom can be misunderstood or bring a something that you don't really want to know.

First Question: Did the second wolf come from the same direction as the first? Or did it come from the opposite direction?

Second Question: What color were each of the creatures? Chose between white, black, and grey, or even brown as best you can.

Third: Were the wolves the same size, or was one larger than the other?

How strange that I happened on this subject, as I often dream of both owls and wolves. In fact, I rarely dream of any other animals but the two.

What is most peculiar is that for the last year or so, I've had what seems like the same owl following me around. The first time I ever saw it was one night when I was moon gazing. I heard a noise in the oak tree and heard the hoot. This big owl was sitting on my dad's workshop, just gazing down. Sometimes I'd hear it at night in one of the trees.

About a month ago, my friend and I went to visit her mother's grave and I heard noise behind us in the trees, and again, the same hoot. It looked like the exact same owl.

When we were watching the lunar eclipse, again, the same owl (seemed like anyway) was perched across the road from us on a telephone pole.

Right now, I hear it outside my window, perched on the edge of the cover over the carport.

My mom said when I was younger, about seven or eight, I was in the living room and I heard a noise outside. I went out and on the mailbox was this HUGE owl. I walked almost right up to it, and all it did was watch, and hoot at me. It didn't fly away until my mom realized I'd walked outside and came out to see what I was doing. This was about eight o'clock at night.

On the subject of wolves, I always dream about the same one--he's the dark, almost black one with the gold eyes. You see that one on calenders alot.

When I was in the sixth grade, we lived in the "country" back by a bunch of sugar cane fields. One morning I was waiting for the bus, and I saw what I THOUGHT was a dog running up the road. It got closer and I realized it was a wolf. It came right up to the front steps of the porch, not aggressively or anything, just cautiously, sort of whining. I had a granola bar in my bookbag (to snack on later) so I tossed it to the wolf. It took it and ran off. I'd see it sometimes in the field when I was playing outside, just watching. Mom couldn't figure out why I kept bringing bread back by the well shed. :shhhh:

I had one happen up on me another time, and we just sort of stared at one another and he went his way and I went mine.

It was suggested to me that these are totem animals for me.

My personal animal spirit is the owl, in particular the Eagle Owl from what my dreams and meditations have revealed to me. On occassion an Artic, snowy white owl, would appear, but the vast majority od visions would focus on the Eagle Owl.

If you are interested in using animal guides for spiritual insight or enlightment I would highly suggest the book "Zuni Festishes" by Hal Zina Bennett as a starting point. This is a very thoroughly researched book, well thought out, and very reader-friendly. I picked the book up while on vacation in southwest Colorado, along with some authentic Native American owl fetishes.

According to the Zuni view of cosmolgy and animal fetishes the key attributes of Owl are:

~ the medicine of sorcery
~ magical transformation
~ link between the dark, unseen world and the world of light
~ communication between spiritual and physical realities
~ comfort with the shadow self

Key attributes of the Wolf, called the White Wolf - Guardian of the East are:

~ loyalty
~ insight and revelation
~ socail and familial values
~ teaching and learning
~ instinct linked with intelligence
~ clarity
~ inner guidence
~ expression of personal truths
~ newness, including new choices

From what I have found in most European texts is that owl is viewed suspiciously because of its nocturnal habits, humans are inherently afraid of "things that go bump in the night" so that makes sense. American indians though revered owl for his/her ability to function in the world of darkness and its ability to also live by day. If you look into owl further I would certainly recommend using American Indian information as their shamans were as in touch with the animal spirit world as any people I have researched so far.

If anyone else was wondering about information on their Zuni animal fetish just ask and I can post the basics here. There are more in depth explanations in the book I mentioned and a couple others I have. I will try and find the titles and authors, but a fair amount of my library is still packed up from moving. Its hard to find space for over 500 books though, ~grins~.
