Time seems to be going faster than the 'blink of the eye'.
It kinda makes sense though, we are in the 'shift of ages'.
and the earths base resonant frequency is getting higher. :)

sure , id love to.
Well , it isn't really connected to any religion or faith so it is not a pagan thing. It is a form of hands on healing using the ki or chi energy around us to heal our energy boddies.
With a good flow of energy and a balanced energy system comes good health.

Hahahaha Mythril seems to have beaten me to the punch. I was going to say that as far as I know, Reiki is not really a pagan-oriented practise, although many pagans use it as a form of non-medicinal healing. I have had a few experiences with Reiki (never had to pee so bad in my life!! LOL ) and found each one unique and wonderful!!

My girlfriend had a lady at work do some Reiki on her one day. It was on her back due to some back pain she was having. She raved about it. Within a week she was doing some of this herself. She has done some practice on me and I can admit, it works. The first time she tried it, it was phenomenal.

I have just recently become aware of Reiki. A teacher of mine introduced me by actually giving me a neck massage in the middle of one of my classes. It felt unbelievable! When I do a healing on someone, I manipulate the energy down to the color. With Reiki, you have to just let it flow through you. It is like a living entity, it even chooses it's temperature. We talked afterward and she told me some of what she was taught. I have since become more aware of all the information about this "art". There are books seemingly everywhere. Most recently I looked through some at Barnes and Nobles. I do not have any specific titles. But use your instinct to ferret out the truth, as in all things. Good luck.

Is reiki used to heal only physical problems or can it also heal psychological problems as well? By that, I mean, create an over all sense of well being and calmness?

I don't know about "stronger" per say....it just feels more intense to me. ...plus you are working on other issues....not just on the physical level. With Reiki 2 you can work on an emotional/mental level and distant treatments. ...and M/T level, works on a spiritual plane. :D
I know that my hands get REALLY hot when I'm working near an area that is really taking the reiki. ....to the point that if I had my eyes closed, and brought my hands (palms) within 2-4 of my eyes...I can see the "Light" from the energy with my eyes closed. It's truely amazing!

Essential Reiki ~Diane Stein ~~take some of the material with a grain of salt~~
The Complete Reiki Guide Handbook~Walter Lubeck
There are some other one's out there as well, I just found these the most useful.
I have a website that offers my Reiki Course.....if you still want to go further.....we can work something out as far as the Attunements go. ....I can do distant attunements....that's not a problem. ;)

Everyone experiences the energy differently. Some people feel hot, .....cold.....tingles.....or even nothing at all. Some people see colors when they are channeling/receiving....some don't. It affects everyone differently.
I've read (for get where now, as I've read TONS of info on this)....that when treating a burn victim, the practitioners hands were really hot on the uneffected area...but cold near/over the burn area.....but the patient felt nothing but cool relief.

I have an amazing book , it is definately a must for any level of energy healer, especially for you Dagda(master) if you haven't read it yet.
It is called "Hands of light" Forget who it is by.
I was given it as a present and it is one of the best books on the subject , i think.
IT shows that one can develop their high sense perception to a degree that they can see inside the body , to see if there are any problems with the organs.

ooops , i forgot something.
I was reikiing my grandmothers knee the other day.
She had intense pain on the joint so i worked there and after a while the pain started moving down here leg ,so i followed it and it ended up in the foot.
Why would the pain move i wonder. Plus i felt intense heat whereas she felt a verry cold sensation.
Dagda Moon~Lily
July 10th, 2001, 08:18 AM
Mythril,
My only assumption would be that you were "chasing" the pain right out of her. ....down the meridian and out her foot chakra.
The book you are refering to is by Barbara Ann Brennan. She also has another book called Light Emerging. I don't own these books, but the library I work at does have them! :D
~D
PS~for more information about Meridians, the book "Energy Medicine" by Donna Eden is a wonderful book! I loved it so much, I bought her 3 videos that complement the book.

The Cold / Warm opposites have been fairly common in my experiances with Spiritual Healing. Both when I was doing the healing (Very amaturish..) and when I was being healed.
The same sensation was also there when "we" were makeing a crystaline body using spiritual healing and some assention techniques.
I Felt Freezing while others Felt exceptionaly hot.
Hope this sheds some light

Oh yes, I offer online attunements. It's the same in theory as distant healing. :D
The only "beware" I would mention, is that you get a good understanding of Level One before getting the attunement. Are there lessons that go with the attunement?

I don't remember the site but i don't recall any lessons that were there.
What else is there to learn in reiki 1, other than hand positions, history?
Dagda Moon~Lily
July 17th, 2001, 08:06 AM
In the course, I offer lessons that includes these topics just for Level One:
What is Reiki
Origins of Reiki
Reiki Principles
Auras and Colors
Introduction to Chakras
Working with your Healing Guides
Benefits of Being Ill
Benefits of First Degree Reiki
Hand Positions
Healing Benefits of the Hand Positions
Reiki Ethics
First Reiki Symbol
Preparing For the Reiki Attunement
The Healing Session
Of course, there is more to learn with Level Two and Three as well. :D

I got mine about two months after my first. Took a lot longer than that to get my Master attunement. I got the Master/Teacher attunement mainly to have the ability to pass the Master attunement to people I knew that needed it.
Word to the wise, based on personal experience. If you are getting an attunement, it is better to not do it right before a Great Day because of the energy shifts. I got my Master attunement before Samhain, and became so sensitive to the energy building up for that time of year that it really made life difficult. Dealing with the major energy shift of the attunement AND the buildup of energies of Samhain at the same time were, ah, challenging.
I like to compare the attunements to bandwidth when surfing the net. Level 1 is like a 28.8. The energy is going through, but at a relatively moderate level, preparing you for more. Level 2 is like ISDN, more energy, more intense. Level 3 (Master) is like a T1 or DSL, and Master/Teacher ending with Broadband. I came up with this analogy to explain Reiki to somebody who had no idea what the attunements meant, then at a later date I actually had to reverse the analogy to explain internet speeds to a Reiki Master who wasn't very 'net savvy.
Oh, yeah, drink lots of water too. :D

Most recommend that you wait 21 days between levels for the cleansing/purification process to complete itself.
Others recommend 21 days between levels 1&2, and 3-6months between Levels 2 & Master/Teacher.
I feel you should go as it feels right for you. Some dont need as long, other need longer.
:D
Keelyoherne,
You are right.....just like when you release a dam, you do it a little at a time so as not to flood out the river! :D

Ok, great.
I did a sesion on a friend last night, i was scanning his aura and found that his heart chakra at his back was verry hot. So i worked on that area for a while, after the first minute , my hands became so hot that it felt as if the skin was buring, was actually quite painful.
After when i took my hands of they were bright red.
Why did this happen, was his chakra over active? , should i have spent a shorter time on it?

Empaths come more naturally to Reiki? Because I have noticed at times that if someone is desperately sad and I touch them they become happy in like 30 seconds, and I get all sad. Is this some form of reiki? Or just SYmpathy? Or some weird unexplainable thing, I am confused!:D

I used to have this same phenomenon happen to me frequently. With Reiki however, you aren't giving them your energy, but the universal life energy instead. So you don't feel drained, but recharged instead! Or at least I did anyway. Of course I am very new to this and I only did my first treatment on Mol last night. It was very interesting and benefitial to both of us!!

Since Reiki One works on a physical level, ....and for that chakra area, it works with the immune system as well as the lungs and arthritis and autoimmune disorders such as Lupus, arthritis and chronic fatique. What you could have experienced was the onset of a virus....not physically manifested into symptoms, but maybe in the lungs or blood. (like a cold working it's way through the system)....or there could have been alot of tension in that area. The heat from the Reiki would work to loosen and relax the muscles. It's always a hard call as to what the Reiki is working on. ...as reiki goes where it is needed the most and for the highest good....neither you nor your client really have "control" of the energy.
Some people are more sensitive to energy than others. If you are really sensitive, it will be more intense for you especially if you use it alot. What you could try to do, if it's that irritating to you, is run your hands briefly under cold water. This will, in effect, close up your hand chakras (pending on how long you leave then in running water....if they close all the way, or slightly.) This will minimize the flow, and it will cool off and relieve your hands. You have to be comfortable in what you are doing, or you lose your intent. :D

I have just learned something, is it true that Reiki is extremely painful? I asked my mom and she says that they applie pressure to certain muscles and bones and it hurts like hell. Is this true?
Dagda Moon~Lily
July 19th, 2001, 03:11 PM
NO!!!!! I think she may be thinking of "Rolfing", which is a form of deep tissue massage. :D
You don't have to physically touch the person to channel the Reiki to them; you could hold your hands one-three inches above the person, and it would give the same effects as actual hands on. When doing hands on, you are just resting your hands in that position while the Reiki energy pours forth. :D ~~So, obviously....that is not painful! :D

Naturopathy sounds great, at one stage i was looking into that but couldnt find any courses where i live, perhaps that has changed now.
We are really blessed to have so many ways of removing disease and stress, Mother earth provides us with healing plants, even energy from sunshine and moonshine are all available for us to make use of.
