I have had the same reoccurring dream for the last 10 years and am wondering what is the significance of dreams that occurr for this long of a time?
It is not a bad dream... just one that won't go away, in fact it has become like a mystery I am trying to solve when I'm awake, trying to come up with an answer as to what it's about.
Can anyone tell me anything about reoccurring dreams and their meaning?

Reaccuring dreams are usually messages that have been listened to. Hense the reason they reaccure.

It may depend on what it's about. I find that when I'm stressed out, I get the crumbly-teeth dreams or the need-to-run-to-class-but-one-leg-is-shorter-than-the-other dreams.
There are the "trying to scream but only a whisper comes out" (feeling ineffectual/useless) dreams, and the "evil baby" (?) dreams, and the "big empty house with inaccessible rooms/floors/sections" (locked away memories/abilities?) dreams.
These are all recurring for me, and I've had them all over the past.. 15 years or so? Not in any specific pattern, but I think they mostly happen in response to where my head is at in real life.

I imagine the dream will make more sense as time grows on. It is probably reaccuring because it is trying to bash you over the head with a message you just don't want to know.
Sometimes it just happens that way.
Would you care to share what the dream is?

As I'm sure you don't recall 100% of your dreams, I'm sure you're having OTHER dreams besides this recurring one. Chances are you've become oversensitized to the recurring dream--more likely to recall THAT when it happens than anything else.
Recurring dreams tend to point toward issues that seriously need resolving. What does the dream mean to you?

i know how these work. I have experieced many. It seems as though that one dream occurs every night, but the thing is it doesnt usually. Though i have to admit to having dreams for 5-6 days straight that eventually come true. so no worries. Its just a way of letting you know that you have to deal with something in your life. Your lifestyle/job/school/friends ect. It could be a warning for up and coming sickness. It is all how you see your dream that counts.

A reaccuring dream could be several things. Depending on if it is sybolic or psychic or just a dream. If you have a situation you have not been able to settle, you will have dreams to try and help you settle them this is symbolical dreams. If you have something that is happening over and over in the dream, detailed stays the some you are having a psychic dream, but there are 6 different psychic dreams. Or it could be just a dream from childhood that accures and you just haven't out grown it yet. No real hidden meaning just your mind being imaginative, feeling free from the control wake state. Maybe you should tell us about it. We could help better knowing but the true meaning really lays within you we can only give advice to what times of dreams it maybe.

I had a recurring dream years ago. It finally came to an end when I came to understand that it was a memory of a past-life occurrence, not just a random dream. Kind of started me into exploration of alternative possibilities in life.
Depending on the content and format of your dream, you might see if this applies to yours, as well.

I would have to agree with this, In truth we all have 7-8 dreams a night which is usually why most people remember their dreams as being chaotic and random.
Autumn also raises a valuable point as does Starry about reacurring dreams.
Could I by chance lure you in to describe this dream as best as you remember?
