Hi, I am very new to all of this stuff. I'll go ahead and give my story, and get right to the point of the question.
About 2 years ago, I started to practice Yoga. Everything was going good, and I really enjoyed it. Yet after a week or two of practicing, I noticed some changes.
First off, it seemed, my body started to twich or spasm in certain places right after, and for a while after the dead pose (meditation) of my yoga session. Normally, I'd shrug this off. But it was strange, and I will explain why...
It felt just as if I had this tiny ball of energy (stupid as it sounds, best way of describing it) that would bounce all over my body, causing certain parts to twitch. It usually went from one side to the other. Say, bounce from the right arm to the left arm, to my butt cheek, to my leg, up my spine, etc etc. And after each part it "hit" that part of my would spasm for a split second. After a while, I found i could for the most part control it, and send it to whatever bodypart of my choosing, and a little later, I made patterns. It felt really good sending the little ball up to my head, it would cause my teeth to chatter and kind of message the backs of my eyeballs heh. I feel it is important to note, the twitching was a *reaction* to this "ball" for lack of a better term.
I shrugged this off as a beneficial side effect of Yoga, and didn't think much more about it. I havent practiced in a while, and it gradually went away.
Then more recently I was relaxing at a friend's house, drinking some absinthe (hey I at least have to try it once in my life), and I was feeling really good and relaxed after the second one. I became disenterested in the conversation, and went off into a corner on the couch, and just kind of zoned out. Then I figured I should probably start Yoga again, so for fun, I started to meditate. After not even 2 minutes it seemed, I got the famous so called Vibrations....really heavy.
I have not read anything by Robert Bruce, but I did read Munro's Journey out of the Body, and the feeling I had from these vibrations was exactly as Munro described. By the way, I read his book after I got the vibrations that night (that night is what caused my research into this topic in the first place). The vibrations came in waves, felt like it was going circular throughout my body, getting more and more intense. Then I thought, well, if i could control the cool little ball that I use to feel, and intensify that, why not this?
It didn't even take seconds for it to become so intense that I really started to freak out, and thought I was dying. After calming myself down a bit, it went away, and the night progressed w/o futher incident.
This is when I started to research Astral Projection because a friend said my experience could have been that. After reading Journey Out of the Body, I realized that I should have just ran with it that night, and I could have projected! (something i didnt believe in until now).
So lately, I have been trying to make the vibration come back. I have succeeded to varying degrees but nothing as intense as that night, until yesterday.
I laid down for a nap midday, and slept as normal. But then I came aware while I was asleep. I wouldn't consider it lucid dreaming (something that i can do at will when i'm asleep), because I wasn't dreaming when it happened. All that there was was pitch black. I knew I was still asleep, so I figured, why not, and tried to will the vibrations back. And they came back...BIG TIME
Only yesterday it was different, I did not feel them throughout my whole body, only my head, especially around the ears. They were coming on very fast, very intense concentrated in my head, so much in fact that my eardrums started to vibrate, making a loud buzzing sound, and then even started to pop! I willed away the vibrations after that, and tried to wake up, only to realize I was paralyzed and couldn't. After about 10 minutes I was finally able to wake up (actually i have no idea how long it was until i could move, i have no sense of time while i'm asleep).
So I guess what I want to know is, what do I make of all this? I thought I was on the road to AP, but this incident yesterday with my ears has made me question that. A friend lent me Astral Dynamics and I thumbed through it (its so massive and i dont have time to really read it in depth right now with college starting again). But I did note in that book that these vibrations are spirit, or "ethereal" energy or something. Yet what I felt in my ears was very physical it seemed. Did I make a wrong turn somewhere? Has anyone else experienced this? With the buzzing of the ears, or even the bouncing ball? I'd love someone's input on this.
thanks alot
