I worked with my Karma Cards this morning. I had asked some questions. The last one I asked was so amazing. It was a yes/no question. I asked, "Is the Blessed Virgin Mary, the one who Catholics call the mother of God, the Goddess and Lady most high in the universe?"
The card I flipped up was the Moon. Its answer to the yes/no is Maybe. Go with your feelings, hunches, and intuition.
I was in awe. I have always felt somehow a very strong reverence for Mary and do not really want to leave my Christian roots. I had done some research recently on sects of Christianity and there is one that considers Mary the Mother and Mary Magdeline both aspects of the Goddess. They are the Esseenes of Nazarine. From what I've read, they believe that Mary manifested Jesus. They have a very gnostic view on Christianity. I'm not going to become one of them however, because they say that one has to be vegetarian to be one of them and I don't believe that the raising of animals for the purpose of food is wrong. But that is just me. So, given all of this, I believe I am closer to finding a sprituality that works for me.
I'm so happy about that because I was looking for a religion that would work for me but now I see that I am going about this journey of mine the wrong way. BTW, I had asked the Lord and Lady to join me if they'd like and to help and I wonder if that made a difference.
Anyway, I thank the Karma Cards for more insight, (which that's another reason I cannot be orthodox Christian; their thoughts that divination/witchcraft is evil) and that is pretty ironic. Spirituality in my opinion now is better than religion.

Hey LittlePerson... I have never used Karma Cards, but they sound interesting! There was a thread a while back about Mary being a Goddess, I was wondering if you perhaps caught that? Of course, I had to post in that one!

I totally understand what you mean about having reverence for Mary; as a former Catholic, I was brought up to always have a deep respect for Mary and even though I no longer practice Catholicism, the old dogmas die hard...Even though there are some who do not agree with this particular practice, there are many pagan folks who have incorporated Mary into their Goddess worship with no apparent problem.

But I for one, am glad to see that you continue your journey and seek out answers that fulfill your spiritual needs. (I remember posting in THAT thread too!)

Keep us posted on your progress...
