View Full Version : What does this MEAN?

Over the thanksgiving holiday, I was visiting family in Virginia along with my mom and my brother. I had countless nightmares there, about one every night. And in them, my brother died and then in the others, either my house was robbed or it caught on fire. It was really disturbing and I always woke up scared out of my mind.
Anyone here know what these dreams could mean? Any insight would help, thanks.

Many people get a little unerved about dreams that involve dying or any sort of robbing of the home. The mind has several different ways to inform you of your most internal thoughts, most of which you only scarcely recollect in passing.
I could never stress this enough, just because I love to say it for the ease it gives to others; Death in dreams is a good thing! It represents a rebirth to yourself. But in your case, seeing your brother die, or having him be dead, is a representation of new path he may be taking in his life. The visions in your sleep are only mirroring your waking passing thoughts and realizations towards him.
The house often symbolizes the self. In other words, your house being robbed or burning down has a direct connection to yourself, more commonly, your own body. Have you recently been in any relationship that has caused you to feel a little uncomfortable? Have others been taking advantage of you or do you feel that those around you are judging you? This can be translated into dream form as your house being stolen from.
Now, as for your house burning down, you must be going through a few personal issues. Being as the house can represent the self and the body, this could mean one of two things. Your burning home may symbolize something alike to what a death dream would. You may be going through a new change, a dramatic change even right now in your stage of life. Are you starting on a new path? Are you considering another frame of mind perhaps?
The second representaion of the burning house may directly be related to your own body. Your mind may be warning you of an illness within yourself, or you may already know of it and are stressed on how it may progress. If this strikes any chord, you may want to see a doctor, though don't become too worried. The house-ablaze is more often than not a simple warning.
Good luck to you.

Wow..you really hit that one right on the money. I didn't even realize what was going on in my life until I read this.
For one, my brother may be starting a new job. He's 21 years old and has a social anxiety disorder that makes him not want to be around people. My mom and I are trying as hard as we can to get him a job.
Also, the being taken advantage of part that you said rings true. My young cousin (She's 18, like me), just got engaged and I feel like she is making a big mistake. She always asks me for advice and I feel like I get nothing in return.
And for another, I'm moving...my house technically IS getting "stolen" from me since the bank is taking it away.
So wow...thank you so much. You were a great help! :)
