I had a strange dream a few nights ago, I awoke to the feeling of vomitting after having this dream. It was so horrific. When I was a young child I used to have such horrific, strange, and pointless dreams. When I entered high school a few years ago, these dreams faded until now. I was walking through a long, endless, and dark corridor. There was this chill in the air, and it seemed as if I were in a castle hallway for there were only a few torches that were fully lit every certain amount of feet. I entered this chamber it seemed, there was this 'thing' that appeared to be a "coffin" it looked like it, although I knew it wasn't. The coffin 'thing' was standing up against the wall. I stopped a few feet away from the coffin 'thing' and I heard a voice whisper in my ear. The voice said, "Do you dare?" it sounded like a males voice. Shivers I felt creep along my spine and I took another step. The coffin door opened, I blood sunk towards the ground immediatly as the coffin opened, the thick stench of flesh appeared. Spikes were everywhere and I saw a few pieces of flesh torn along the spikes. I'm wondering what this dream really means. Usually I can interpret dreams very well although this one leaves me wondering.

wow that is horrible. Any patterns in your life? The dreams faded when you went ot high school. Did you move? History of abuse? Dysfunctional family? I don't mean to pry but the answer may lie somewhere in your daily life or upbringing.
Also, if it's not a coffin, what is it? Did you attend a funeral when you were little? Are you claustrophobic? I'm just throwing stuff out now. Anyway, good luck finding answers! Let us know if you can make sense of the nightmare.

Have you been under alot of stress lately? This dream could be an expression of it.
That said, it could also be something a little different. If you're working on research into the medieval period of history or possibily the Renaissance, some times your sleeping mind will put you into situations what describe the history that you're working with. From what you described about your dream, its possible that this is what happened.

I have been under a lot of stress lately for I had finals and I was down under in one class. I have attended unfortunatly very many funerals in my lifetime and I have always had a messed up family life, which is why when I was younger I grew up with my aunt. I am looking into many possibilites. My b/f read a book and he told me it could mean "good luck" although something that horrific meaning that?

Ah, now the dream is beginning to make sense. You probably have some home stability and fear of death issues that you need to work through. That's not a professional opinion by any measure, I'm just trying to make sense of the dream. Good luck!

I told you I would join, love. :) Yeah, I had looked it up in a dream book that seeing a coffin in a dream means bad times will die down and that good things are too happen as opposed to the bad , but I am not sure it is a coffin at all. I have seen and read about torture chambers and what these coffins filled with spikes were called are iron maidens. It could mean alot of things. Perhaps all the stress you've been going through, love. Also, seeing death in a dream is not always bad. Death in dreams are very symbolic for change.

Warning, Very Horrific.
Is something wrong with me, that I don't find this all that horrific? I have dreams like this regularly...it probably means that you have a very active imagination, and that your creative streak tends towards the macabre. I wouldn't worry overmuch about it.
Did I ever tell you guys about the dream where we exhumed my Papa's coffin, and it was full of cream cheese when we opened it? (This was a real dream, no foolin'.) :crazyman:

---heheee yea me to, have um all the time in 3-D novel quality, sometimes they even have sequels and take off mini series attached to them...
---Maybe it's something thats long since died and rotted, that you've failed to let go of...
Basicly some event/emotion/thought that has died out, but that you've not grown out of believing yet... Instead you've storred it away in this castle and left it to bubble, stew and finally rot...
Dead things of all kinds "usually" stink, figure out what IT is and loose the fear... Do that 'easier than said of course' and you'l most likely loose the stinky dead thing as well...

Yeah . . most of my dreams are like that as well.
Like this one where there was a horrible disease spreading BY TOUCH! and me and only a couple others locally who were still alive hung all the others on a wal and set them on fire to kill the disease but one of the supposedly dead (from the disease) bots jumped down from the wall and ran right past us, almost infected us as well.
