View Full Version : Benjamin's Seizures

:(

If you guys could spare some energy for Ben, we'd appreciate it. He had six seizures yesterday starting at 7:15am and running throughout the day until 9pm. We ended up in the emergency room after number five at 6:30 in the evening and have been there ever since.
He had another one this morning. *sighs*

They've done a CT and everything was normal. A strep culture which I don't know the results of yet. Even a spinal tap. :wah: The results of which were negative. Both good and bad news, at least he doesn't have menigitis, but we have no idea what is causing this.

He's tired of being poked and prodded, obviously. And we're both exhausted and worried sick. Anything you can spare would be appreciated. *soft smile*

I'll check back in with an update, hopefully we'll all be home later today.

I'm so sorry that all of you have to go through this, and can only imagine the fear, worry, and exhaustion you two must be facing right now...

I'll be thinking of all three of you, and sending positive energy everyone's way.

Try to stay strong, and stick together against whatever it might be, all of you.

Thanks guys!

We're home now....finally. *sighs in relief* He hasn't had any seizures since yesterday morning, so they finally let us go home. We've got some antibiotics for him to take and an EEG scheduled for tomorrow morning.

Hopefully we'll get to the bottom of this, or just keep him from having those fever spikes.

:hugz: Don't worry too much, Felidae. :)

He's doing better. Nothing wrong on the EEG so we're still at a loss as to the cause. The Neurologist seems to think it's not febrile seizures, but I'm not entirely convinced. Unfortunately (sort of) we haven't experienced enough to know just what may bring them on. We're waiting on medical records and we have a follow up scheduled.

But otherwise he's a happy, active three year old again. :) Hopefully things will settle down a bit.

Oh, Wanderer, I'm sooo sorry this has continued on for you guys. I hope they get to the bottom of it soon. Luckily, he's having no lasting effects (apparently!) from the seizures.

:hugz: and prayers and energy for all you. I know how worrying this must be, and frustrating as well!

Well good to hear he's feeling better!!! I know that's a weight off both of you, right there. Hopefully those records will be expedited, because the mystery can be as much of a nightmare as the experience...

Still sending hugs, and energy, to you all. :)
