He gave it up about an hour and a half ago.
I don't know the details, but his son called down a little while ago.
I am going to miss him, but he is not suffering anymore.
Please don't send energy.
We all knew it was coming. Just that I'd been keeping you all up to date and just wanted you all to know.
I'm gonna go now.

Thank you all. Frank will miss his dad terribly. I mean he knows that Dutch is at peace now, but they did all kinds of things together.
I am going to make a rememberance table at the reception, with Uncle's cane, picture of when he was in the Marines, his Stetson hat etc.
Thanks for all your good thoughts.

BIG hugs! I know it's been tough. The remembrance table sounds like a wonderful idea.
Lots of love to you and yours, sweetie. :hugz:

The funeral was today. Uncle Dutch wasn't a churchy person so he didn't want them to have service for him. They just took him out to the cemetary. They laid him by his second wife, who died about 6 years ago. His present wife is going on burying her second husband. Lots of people showed up. Cousins that I normally don't get to see but each September for the family reunion.
Lots of Shriner and Eastern Star people.
The rememberance table I did up looked really good.
I put his portrait from when he was very young and in the Marines. Then a later picture with his Stetson hat and bolero tie. His and Azalee's wedding photo and a pic of him riding the go cart in the Shriner parade.
I also put one of he fancy carved canes, his fez from the Shriners, his old pith helment that he wore in the garden and a diorama that a friend had had made of him.. a little shirtless Dutch, with a hard hat on, working on the electical poles.. that's how he made his living. Putting up those big power towers. I had candles and a small rock fountain that I made. Then I just laid a boquet of multi colored roses on the table.
Every one thought it was really neat.
I appreciate you all going through this with me. And whether the family knows that you guys were sending them energy or not, I think that they felt it. I truely do.
Thank you all and Blessed Be.
