Hi folks, having a rough tinme this week. My great uncle who lives next door does not have more family than me and my mom. Last Sunday, he stumbled across the driveway to ask me to drive him to the ER, I called a squad.
Turns out after all these tests that he was taken into emergency surgury to repair a hole in his aorta, a 4 hour hr. procedure turns into 7 hrs. The doctors said they "have done all we can do an the rest is up to David and God". The doc stated that the heart disease was much worse than expected and it was like sewing tattered rags back together to repair his aorta. He was clinically dead for 55 minutes while they had his body at 18 degree F so that the body would not need the blood during his open heart surgury. I understand this is common during heart operations abut not for so long. Incidentally, my body was very connected to his during that time, I got real sick and laid down to sleep for that hour (the time is yet unconfirmed, but I'm sure).
Anyways, we could use all your thoughts and energies you have to spare for him to have a good recovery. So far today things are looking good. We visited and he was still suffering from the effects of the anestesia (sp).
Thanks in advance.
