I got a phone call from a bill collector this morning and they're threatening to sue me cause I can't afford to pay this medical bill. The irony about this is the medical clinic I went to is supposed to try and help ppl pay their bills if they can't afford to or don't have insurance. I'm out of work and don't have insurance, obviously, but I don't think their wanting to help ppl one bit by threatening to sue them.... I need strength and energy to get through this, cause if they do sue me, they'll probably end up taking everything I own... these crooks are so cruel to people who are poor and can't work.... This world's gotten very insane.

I don't know if it's different in the US, but in Canada if you have no income then you can't be sued for money you don't have. I know this from personal experience. I owe student loans and because I have no income the can't collect on them...of course as soon as I get a job they can garnish my wages....
Anywho, just wanted to say there may be a silver lining....

Aw that sucks. My daughter and son-in-law had to file for medical bankruptcy (only) after my granddaughter was born two years ago. That sucks too, but it helped them get out of a really tight spot. The insurance they'd had when their first child was born three years before that had screwed up and they were getting threatening letters over a bill they never should have had to pay. So basically you're screwed if you don't have insurance, but having it isn't always that much better. Good luck to you and may things work out really well for you.
