My husband's grandmother is rapidly failing. She went from being in basically good health, still living alone and taking care of herself to having a stroke, blood clots and pneumonia all in a few days. The doctors don't really think she will survive, and say that if she does, at best, she will be paralyzed on one side and never speak again. My husband says that this would be a really horrible thing, because she was always someone who was really full of life. Also, it's quite unexpected, as she is 79 and her mother lived well into her 90s.

Anyway, I would appreciate some healing energy sent to her and to the family. I just want for her whatever she would want for herself, whether that is life or release...and peace for her family.

Well...she has stabilized enough that they are taking her off some of the meds, and tomorrow she is going in to have a permanent feeding tube inserted into her chest, because she can't swallow anything. Also, she has been evaluated by a stroke/brain specialist and it seems the stroke was much worse than anyone realized. They are actually questioning whether she can understand what's being said to her or who is there (and it was initially thought that she could). Anyhow, she has to be transferred to another facility because she cannot do the three hours a day of rehab that they do at the hospital, so she has to be moved to a more modified environment.

We're still waiting to see how this is going to go...how I hate the waiting...
