Last night my friends brought me over to their place and told me that they decided they didnt want me to live with them anymore. The only reason they gave was because they didnt want to deal with me having AIDS. Well, we already signed the lease a month ago so now im stuck with payments for an apartment i cant live in. Im also failing out of school which makes eveything ten times worse. The head of the dorms I live in is giving me a week to get my stuff out but after that, I have no where to go. Im 500 miles from home and everything is just falling apart. I could really use some possitive energys please.

Do I understand that yours is the only name on the lease? You might be able to sue these "friends" in small claims court for breaking a promise to co-rent with you and then backing out. They don't sound like the kind of friends you need if they knew you had AIDS and waited until moving time to tell you they were uncomfortable about it.

I've never been in that situation so I don't know if this would work, but could you try talking to the landlord and explaining that you can't afford the apartment on your own? Maybe there is a studio apartment that costs less that you could rent instead?

Anyway, positive energy and big hugs from me to you.

We all have separate leases in the same apartment. Its a college town so thats how they do it i guess. I've tried talking to the landlord and they dont care, they just want their money.

Since they also signed leases, call a lawyer. Around here you can get a free 30-minute consultation to find out if you need to actually hire a lawyer. OR - if these other guys can walk out on the lease, why can't you do the same thing?

So sorry... but, it is not right to do that to someone... I agree with Lunacie

If your name is on the lease, what power do they have to order you out?? What would happen if you refused? They can't lock you out, because you could call the police....I think?? I understand that you wouldn't want to live somewhere you didn't feel wanted, but still...I don't think its legal. Tell them you'll leave when they find someone to take over your part of the lease so that you're no longer responsible for payment. Geeez....some people. What goes around comes around.....

I dont understand anything about leases and lawyers... so i have no advice for that except that I really think you should talk to someone who understands this stuff and fight for your rights... This is literally discrimination..

Good luck to you... Lots of good energies & thoughts are on their way to you :)
Brightest Blessings!
