O.K., i love dragons, i always have and i have always been interested in dragon magik so when i found a meditation ritual to formally introduce yourself to them and ask for help for somrthing I decided to do it (I've bin goin through a bit of a tough time at d mo)
Anyways, i was warned that I had to be sure before even starting to get into anything with dragon magick because it can be v powerful and dragons are mischeivous and like to manifest this in physical ways (e.g. blowing incense smoke in your eyes, flaring candles etc.), but I was (and still am) sure so on ostara I set up a new simple altar and called to dragons at each compass point instead of watchtowers and i could feel something (which is an improvement on most of my circles) so I consecrated some of my things just for dragon magik, then i finished up and went to bed to try the meditation ritual.
Sorry this is taking so long, not much more
I managed to get to the middle of it, when you are standing in a chamber and you can hear dragons playing etc. i wont go into detail, but I fell asleep (iv been so tired lately) I woke up the next morning really alert and suddenly which never happens to me. I meditated again the next nite and again the night after that, or i tried to because I wanted to ask them to keep me and my family safe in this difficult time and while im away visiting my dad for the next fortnight. but i was so exhausted that I couldnt get into a proper trance, then something poked me in the side.
I know that there was no one else in the room, and I dont think it was just me twitching because I felt it press like a finger before it registered that something was there and i flinched and it was gone.

I got the distinct feeling that it was the dragons trying to reasure me that I dont need to beg for protection, i already have it, but i just had to share this with someone and i dont think any of my friends will understand quite how important this is to me. Does anyone know any more about dragon rituals/ magik or think anything about the poking incident?

 :needcoffe :falloffch  :collapse: :seehearsp :caffeine: :sleepy: :zzzzZZZ: :ghostie: - i so know how all these smilies feel!

Well, the advice I'm about to give is a bit hairy because of the nature of Dragons. I have met ones that will barely speak to me because I'm a human, and there are those that look upon me as an amusing novelty, and then there are those who look upon me as an equal.

What I mean is, that I have met wonderful Dragons who I have friendly, informal relationships with, and there are those I would be VERY wary of and keep as formal as possible with.

You do not need to beg for protection at all. By all means, ask very politely, but I know Dragons who would be quite embarrased if I got on my knees and begged them to help. Besides, they can help in the subtlest of ways, you may be protected by them already and just not notice it :).

As for the poking, I know what you mean. The first time I consciously met Dragons, I was so unsure of wether I was imagining it all, that one had to physically land on me so I would be certain. I could feel her little feet crawling up my shoulder... it was really cool.

I hope this helps. Feel free to PM me any time!

Laurelie, do you have any links or info you can share with me regarding working with dragons.. I've always been interested in them and I feel I'm ready to get to know them better!
Thanks!!

Well, I highly reccommend Dancing with Dragons by DJ Conway. That's the book that set me off working with them, and I got a lot out of it. It also has a section of the varying species of Dragons, which I found very useful. The rest, I learnt from speaking to Dragons myself :). The book also has a great meditation 'Entering the Mouth of the Dragon', which I think is the meditation that Venndragon described.

Dragons often turn up in the way that Faeries do, really... either unexpectedly or they creep into your life as sneakily as possible. I have a wonderful Dragon friend who I met just after a ritual (he had been drawn to the energy). I heard several strange noises on the roof of my house, and looked out of the window only to find him sat on the roof gazing across the gardens. I find it very exhilerating (albeit rare) when Dragons cause physical manifestations such as bumps in the night, sensations across your skin, freaking cats out, and such :p.

I don't have any site links, sorry. If you have any specific questions feel free to PM me. You might want to hunt out Flick on these boards too. From what I've heard, he gets a LOT of Dragons passing through his home, he might have some tips on attracting Dragons to your home as well. I usually meet new Dragons through my other dragon friends, so I don't do much attracting. Though I do know that they can't resist coming to a good energy raising session, especially if it involves incense!
