I had a strange dream last night... I think it was a dream anyway. It's strange, because my dream was that I was fighting something... something or someone very dark and powerful. Like I was waging war against it. But it was defeating me, I was on the ground and bleeding, short of breath. I remember... I looked up and the something that was fighting me has raised its sword, about to kill me, and then I woke up. It's so strange to me though because I woke up with a bleeding lip, and bruises on my arms and sides. I havent been fighting anyone but in my dreams lately I've been fighting off many "dark" beings in my dreams lately. Never before have I woken up with injuries though. I dunno maybe I'm crazy but honestly these dreams I'm having feel very real, like I really am fighting something. my arms hurt like hell, like I've been swinging a heavy sword for hours, and my bruises are black, on my ribs and shoulders.... I have little scratches everywhere too, like I've been running through the woods full of thorns and sharp branches. Will somebody please tell me if I'm insane or if my dreams mean something?
Blessings,
Adra

Ummm, It could be a dream with a lot of movement. Do you have any experience with Astral Travel? That is another possibility. Astral travel can be fairly common while sleeping and if the experiences are intense enough they can leave physical marks. I once had to explain 4 broken ribs and purple ligature marks around my throat to my DR.

Ok, just a few questions here... 1. Do you sleep with anyone else in the bed? 2. Was there anything you could have injured yourself on, while sleeping?

no I wasnt sleeping with anyone in the bed, and unless I somehow went to the footboard of my bed I couldnt have scratched myself or given myself any bruises. I've thought this all through and there's no way I could have gotten those injuries on my bed or on my own. I've astral projected before, but only for brief periods of time, and not to any place like the one I was in that "dream". in that dream... it was scary, dark and I heard screams too.... I already gave the details I remember most.... I just dont know what it is, I had it again this afternoon when I took a nap too... I'm just glad that someone keeps waking me up before the end of the dream happens....

Hey.
Follow this link before you read on. (http://www.castleofspirits.com/sleep.html)

Astral travel can be very intense; I occasionally wake up--usually after a very tender and intense dream about someone I love--still feeling like I'm being held, or kissed, or touched in some way. However, this is scaring me a little, that you're being hurt in your sleep. Do you meditate before you go to bed? If not, you could maybe do what I do to protect myself when sleeping--spend about ten minutes tracing a golden pentagram of energy above yourself in the air, with your mind. Let another golden pentagram be mirrored beneath you, and let each point of each pentagram shoot off a ribbon of energy that connects to its mirror image, and let the ribbons then connect to each other, forming a shell around you. It will make you feel very safe and warm before you sleep, which always helps.
On a physical-transcending-to-spiritual level, I would strongly recommend you take some precautions before sleeping--perhaps burn some frankincense in a potpourri pot, as that fragrance repels negativity and protects, and I would recommend making yourself a little necklace of protection. Smoky quartz, black tourmaline, and lapis lazuli--you only need three pieces total. Bless these in the name of a protector/ess deity, and wear them around your neck or over your third eye, if your preferred sleeping position will allow it, while you sleep.
I really hope it gets better for you. It's bad to be scared and hurt from sleep.
