Anyone else read signs, portents and omens - those weird little things that just show up at odd times that instantly trigger your sixth sense or signify something that will happen? You know, like seeing a pair of squirrels frolicing in a park and suddenly knowing your best friend is engaged. . . things like that.

I used to, regularly, and quit after tons of disillusionment about almost everything in my life. Today I had a major one for the first time in ages, however, and I just don't trust that it means what my brain thinks it means.

Anyhow, I'm wondering if anyone else does this sort of divination (really more a psychic trigger as I said, but a very ancient and traditional method).

I do. Mostly I get messages in the form of crows. I RARELY see them that something doesn't happen very quickly after. Most recently I've been surrounded by what appear to be female cardinals, though......don't know what they mean, but I'm absolutely sure they mean something.

Three ravens were one of my recent ones. They were ravens, not crows. Flew right over me on the ski lift in Colorado and perched in the trees and "talked" to me.

I've always heard that if your broom falls flat in the floor for no reason at all, it means company is coming

I do this too. Most of them are from animals. But I have read signs that were actual "signs" lol.

Omens! Weee! :D
I study them fervently. As soon as I get some books back, I will begin to put the finishing touches on my Dictionary of Omens. I'll be talking about how to identify them, along with an A-Z listing of background information for some... not definate meanings for omens, but additional knowledge.

I get omens at least once a month. Anything from birds, to animals in strange places, heavenly events, repeated happenings, unusual situations, seeing old friends by the droves, etc. I even study the patterns they come in, because sometimes the underlying patterns will say more about what's to come rather than getting an immediate sign. :)

I have most of it done, just need the entries! Urgh!
